10260 - Downtown Diner

Who's hungry for a new modular?  (to borrow CM4S's pun).

That thing is atrocious  ?

Wozers. That's different. Might grow on me, however...

I can’t find a pic. Any hints?

Or the reddit...

I like it a lot. Not sure its style really goes along with any other modulars but it's nice and I like that it's something new more than anything.

loving the 50's feel to it....may just be the first modular I get for my collection :P

It looks like maybe a boxer out in front so maybe a boxing gym or something like that upstairs?

Edited to add:  In the second floor window above the door it looks you can see part of a boxing ring.

I don't know about this set, 10260 comes along with the other modulars like... (in terms of style, especially being placed next to the 10255 which looks significantly more modern)

Is this a corner building or just another to add to the row?

Hard to tell anything with that pic. I wouldn´t even say it was 100% legit when you see how squint the blue background with the other sets is.

If it is legit, I think i looks great. Who says all modulars have to be pre-WW2? Might go well as a bridge between the traditional-looking ones, and Ninjago City (which I am currently battling the temptation to purchase while the 20% rebate can be had).

Surely that is fake or a moc. I can't imagine Jamie Beard designing something that bad.

Maybe Jamie was busy with the interior for the Cafe Corner vault release.

I'd laugh normally, but that is probably the reality, if this is real then CC or GG is certainly coming next year.

From what I saw, and if it's real, I like it. Nice change up, tons of details, and overall an interesting build. Boxing ring on second floor would be awesome.

If the reddit pic is accurate, it looks similar to the diner downtown where I live.  Maybe later I'll walk downtown and take a pic of the diner and the block in which it resides.  It's not as gaudy as this set looks, but you'll see the similarities.  The set is very Americana inspired.  It'll be curious how well it sells around the world.

no, he was busy with finding the right place for infamous "one extra brick" that comes with Taj Mahal 2017 to have the right justification for increased price by 30% in UK.

Bleugh! And do diners have multiple floors? The only ones I can recall in films are single storey.

The most famous diner in the world is one of them.

If true this build looks much like a Snailad MOC and that is surely something. This Diner fits the general 50s aesthetic including the soda jerk at the front.

It is a straight/side building from what I can see. Plus going by LEGO's traditional modular release pattern, it should be (straight / business, residential).

I think it looks like a corner. Hard to be exactly sure on the width of the building since I can't see where it ends on right but it's only about 24-26 studs wide from I can see.  Also the corner white plates above the window look like they wrap around the corner to possibly a similar window section on the side.

Interesting choice for the next Modular building. I'm convinced it's real and I look forward to the designer video showing all the most interesting details.

I guess they just couldn't fit "Jamie's Restaurant" on the front in 32 studs or less so they had to simplify it to "Diner" (though the front door says "Jim's" .. I guess Tim's might have been a shade too close to Tom's).
