Will there be a definitive number produced?  In other words, have the suits at Lego already decided how many sets they are going to make, or will they leave it open ended based on initial sales?  This is all very interesting to me.  Nearly every other product that has limited production or at least no plans for unlimited production has a set number planned for production, or number of days.
I just don't know how forthcoming Lego is going to be about this number.....very interesting.
Anyone have any thoughts on how many sets the "average store" is going to get in?  I've never lined up or spent the night for a set.  Do stores usually let the public know how many they got in, let's say the night before?
Thank you!

This is not how it works anymore. Last few years everything has moved to JIT production. There may be an initial estimate of demand as well as a general duration slot. But every set is continuously reevaluated now. If it's still selling they make more. Look at the VW Camper Van. Should have retired 4 years ago...

I've done a little digging on how limited a release this will be at the lego Store on the 14th...the only substantial info I could find was on the "brick fan" forum

...one guy asked his store how many they'd get on the 14th...and the lego employee said they'd be getting "single digit" quantities day one

another guy posted that his lego store said they'd get 4 per store.

and some peeps are talking about spending the night ....

-so my question is...

Anyone hear anything similar? Or Contrary?...I can't believe they are only getting 4 per store....

smh

Ohh yeah...not to mention there is a limit of 5 instead of their usual 2 limit...

...I know it's a $800 set..but I've seen crazy, and I wouldn't put it past that the #1 dude in line is the idiot selling His sets on eBay for 2K????

LEGO need to realise that cutting corners = cutting profit. 75192 is an utter disappointment and an extortionate rip-off IMHO. Strong words, but 10179 looks way better. I have a feeling they will struggle to sell the new model. It's a big risk for LEGO and they should've done a better job - at least a smoother illuminated arse! I'll only buy at -50% off as it needs a lot of work. It's not worth £449.99 let alone £649.99. I think LEGO know this, hence only a few for sale at each branch. LOL if they're still on the shelves a week later!

LEGO... make sure most of your current designers are among the 1,400 to be fired!

Where did you get them from? Kindergarten?

An actual Lego store having 10 or fewer in stock makes perfect sense. The damn thing is huge. They can't store or hold a huge amount. No matter if they think it will sell out or not. They have other inventory to store snd stock. Order online. Way easier and guaranteed to get one without driving anywhere.

Last time I tried ordering online for something like this hype(42056)...i ordered it at 21:01 am (live at 12:00am)....and didn't see the set for 3 months....

meanwhile...people had gone to the lego store grabbed multiples and sold online ...eBay and amazon

you sound Like the the guy from "planes trains and automobiles" that tells Steye Martin,??"hey...why don't you Take the airline to get home for thanksGiving!".....it's comfy and you get a free Meal! :)

..after that it just get ugly???

Leicester Square is getting 100 (designer signing) while other UK stores <20 I believe. My local will have 16 with a resupply of 8 per week.

It that one of their current designers that should've gone to Specsavers? ;-)

Few stores I deal with have confirmed 4 on this shipment.  Still time for another truck to land on release day as well though.  Would assume the small per week shipments like castles at the beginning for size reasons and to keep up perceived scarcity.

Which parts of 10179 are 'way better'?

Will the VIP cards also be available with online purchases or just at this event?

You really think they will remake it (again) when there are so many other possibilities within the SW Universe, let alone any other UCS possibility?

Yes.

Right, most LEGO stores I know of are small.

No already produced set is safe from being remade. So far they remade the X-Wing, Mill. Falcon, Sandcrawler and playset Death Star. Granted the last two had initial sets that weren't considered UCS.

Manager of my local lego store has confirmed that they will have four available. I am going to take my chances online.

The cards are being mailed after the fact so whether you purchase in store or online it is irrelevant. I am under the understanding that it is purchases done in 2017 that will receive a card for the 2018 year.

The only reason I would waste my time waiting on line at the mall would be to get that cool box.  My wife will probably want to toss it in the recyclables.

My wife was eying an Apple Watch, I told her to grab one . when a big ass box shows up at my door, we would just call it even .

Bummed to find out local store received none on shipment this week.  They literally will not know how many until day of.   Shared customers from other states several hours away have already expressed hotel reservations or super early arrivals just to get it day 1.  Looking like an online order for me.  Was really hoping to support local store on this one.

This is seeming like a bit of a joke, only 8 units in my local store and 100 in london, how can you risk traveling costs and not know if you will get one, with all the hype and secrecy you would have thought they would have distributed a few more seeing as there stores are spread out so far across the country and customers will have to travel to try and grab one. Later in the year with double vip's is looking more than likely now.

How do you know?

(not challenging you, just want verification as we get so many different rumours)
