Can we just put to the rest debate whether it's legit or not.

Looks pretty much as I would expect it to look.  What's inside will make the difference and help determine how popular it will be.  It's a shame that a knockoff brand has this information and can "leak" it before LEGO officially releases.  I guess if you want that cheap Chinese labor, you have to hand over some "secrets" to the right people in China.

Well comparing to Apple and the way they are trying to keep things concealed as much as possible I have to admit. Lego did pretty great in keeping this set so secret for so long without any leaks knowing that 95% of the projects are ready about a year before it's release to market.

I think that is really it. Now we will wait on the minifigure selection. 

Someone should flip that image upside down and overlay it on the image that Lego released with the box wrapped in white paper. Looks like it would line up really well.

This latest pic is of a promo flyer.  The twitter pic from 2-3 weeks ago is of the box (upside down).  I doubt the models' angles are the same.

Pretty good?  The knockoff brand is launching their set first.  LOL.

Not ruling this as a leak yet (for purposes of the game). Will wait to see what else happens.

I was on the fence until I saw the leaked pic (thanks E1!), showed it to my son, and his face lit up along with mine!

Might drive a few hours to get this bad boy day 1. Definitely going to build one... not sure about a second sealed copy for the collection. I'll probably just save the box and be content with that.

Yeah. I will definitely buy one to build. I had 2 of the original 10179. I built one three times waiting until my boy was old enough to build it himself (he was 9. He built 90% by himself). Then I sold it used for $1500. I had another sealed original series one set that I sold a year later for $2500. So It's nice to have another opportunity to build this epic set.

Apparently the bottom portion of the image was removed. The original image contains a footnote stating that there will be a commemorative gift box (limited to 150 globally) signed by the designers along with a Star Wars watch, a LEGO Star Wars buildable figure, and a commemorative card. Reportedly all 150 are only available in China.

I'm sorry but I don't see the connection to the "knockoff brand". This picture was posted by a chinese toy retailer, who as far is I can tell from their facebook-presence sells the real deal ( Hence the astronomical pricetag on the Falcon) Just because it's from China doesn't always mean it's a knockoff

Ed's comment you quoted wasn't specified about KO companies and this set. More to do with ever since Lego moved manufacturing to China, leaked info seemed to increased drastically.  Same with Apple stuff, etc...before release dates.  There's a price (Cons) companies pay when using far cheaper non-local labor (like Lego / Denmark and Apple / US with China).  Company secrets are leaked easier.

Physical location means very little nowadays when you are talking about computer files (images, instructions, etc.). Now if the actual materials (plastics, etc) and LEGO molds were being used for the fakes in China (which they are not), then it would be a location issue.

I think the timing is more in regards to the increase in the popularity of LEGO (and the rise in values), as this is what drew the attention of the fakers.

Corporate espionage is a huge problem in china for all companies. Even a company's own employees in china can't be completely trusted with sensitive information. Such information is always sought after and if someone pays high enough a price then someone will always cave.

We're talking about company leaks  this around. Not KOs. 

Nearly every leaked image of Lego, Apple, etc... product I've seen have been from camera phones in manufacturing plants or warehouses.  Nothing hacked. 

60 mins did a nice piece on this. Factory workers get paid more for one leaked photo than 6-12 months of salary. 

I most say (assuming the leaked pic is legit), this set looks sharp even if there isn't interior space .  Using pics of my old  10179, there's probably 300+ more elements used for top greebling and the cockpit hallway alone.  Judging by the leaked pic, I do think strengths of 10179’s skeleton were carried over as the overall top panels seem to be the same design / size with slight changes,

Maybe 75192 and 10179 would have been more appropriate captions. Funny how people are happy with their lot until a slightly newer/younger version comes out. Car manufacturers have been dining out on this for decades with their model year strategies by changing a grille or some lights.
