I think that may actually be the BACK of the box, so the box art may be displaying different angles and features than what you'd expect on the front. Isn't the LEGO logo usually smaller on the back? It's already upside down, why couldn't it be backwards too? Just a thought...

Are you a collector? Do you have to have the original? Some people do. That, in my opinion, would be the driving factor for even considering purchasing 10179. Personally I would wait till Sept to see how 75192 affects the price of 10179.

 

I am just wondering what the lowest price of the 10179 will be. It has already started declining from what I notice on local listings and on bricklink. I was just thinking of grabbing one close to the lowest price and if it turns out it is not another falcon being released, it will instantly shoot up back to its original price.

i hope so.  I reckon they have to do something special at that price, and considering it is a 40th anniversary set.

roughly how much saving are we talking about? I am in Australia and the cost will be higher than the US....

Well the manager of my local store confirmed to me it's coming and the biggest issue they have is where to put the blooming thing. This person has never let me down with info. Leak, official or unofficial can't be far off if stores have already been informed. Also expect there to be supply issues since if people do go nuts expect it to sell out quickly since stores will be getting a limited supply given cost and the size of the thing. Will be in the queue for this on day 1. Didn't know whether there would be any promo ... yet... but said would be surprised there wouldn't be something to commemorate the occasion but no info yet
