LEGO should be ashamed of themselves promoting such unscrupulous reselling behavior.  These people get two and I can't even get one.

Indeed.

I was talking to a couple in front of me and they only wanted 1 but could easily have said they were both there to buy one (as long as both were VIP members).

Number 150 seems to have been a lot of drama. Bet those 2 last minute mind changers are kicking themselves now.

Hello,

If you've clicked the link then you know what you're buying.  I had no intention of selling this but once I got home it was 'decided' it was for the best!

This was bought at the midnight opening in London and should only grow in value.  I'm sad to see it go.

The box is signed by the designers and also included is a signed copy of the exclusive brochure.  It will be shipped in the original Lego shipping box which was opened to sign the main box.  The main box is of course in mint condition and remains factory sealed.

Shipping is £40 and will be sent via courier.  Insurance for the full auction value is optional and can be added at your expense after the auction ends... or come pick it up near Ipswich.

Thanks :)

EDIT:  After several emails :)...   No I'm sorry only the first 100 got the black VIP card and I wasn't one of those. Technically I was 152 in the queue and was allowed to buy one as the result of two people in front of us changing their minds at about 11PM!

There was also some confusion as the last two of us in the line arrived at the same time (151 & 152)

So the box numbers sold so far are 006, 035, 083,108, 109, 1 unknown with stock photo (possible scam).

The ones currently listed are 1 with hidden number, 024, 039, 090, 138 and 150 (unverified) 2 signed with no numbers but VIP cards 21 and 81

That means that 10% of the 150 signed ones have been listed so far. I wonder if anyone actually bought a signed one and opened it? They´ll also be kicking themselves.

EDIT: Brickset opened their unumbered signed copy with VIP card 088

Signed sets 005, 93, 94 and 131 went to Bricksetters.

Signed sets 102 and xxx are in Brickpicker hands.

Yep, ''tis crazy. The question is will they keep going up?

Yes, of course. Of 150, 15 have been accounted for (see above). The less unsold LE signed editions left, the more they will be worth.

Isn't It the standard wait time for backordered sets? 30 working days is about 1 1/2, right? If so, wouldn't that be an easy answer instead of a thoughtful one?

My problem is why are orders placed after mine being fulfilled before me?   CS agreed, apologized, and said they couldn't provide an explanation.

Just got home and box was sitting on my front porch. Wife tried picking it up,  and decided to just walk in front door. This thing is heavy!!

Anyone else on here want to divulge their signed box number for the database? You can PM me if you prefer to be anonymous, I won´t post user names (unless you want me to) or throw anyone under the bus if they bought to resell.

If box is opened now, please say so - it is in everyone´s interest to determine how many of those 150 bad boys are now out of commission.

This is the list so far:

Sold items on Ebay UK 006, 035, 083,108, 109, one unknown set with stock photo (possible scam).

Currently listed sets are;  one with hidden number by seller, 024, 039, 090, 138 and 150 (unverified) 2 signed with no numbers but VIP cards 21 and 81

Signed sets 005, 93, 94 and 131 went to Bricksetters.

Signed sets 102 and xxx are in Brickpickers´ hands.

This will be difficult to reconcile, since the Black VIP card holders will have different numbered VIP card and entry pass numbers, since when the first 100 in line went up to collect their vip boxes, the staff just randomly gave them any box with the numbered vip card.   Some people will say that their entry card is what denotes the number and other's the VIP card no, depending on which number is better.  So do not be surprised to see two no 50's come up, and then confusion and accusation of fraud/fakes raised.  Can't wait! :-)

If they are a couple, they could be kicking each other.

I only want to reconcile the numbers people have on the actual set box as part of the designer signature. VIP cards, queue numbers, signed shirts and underpants etc are indifferent to me. If they didn´t have their signed set numbered or got one without the signature at midnight opening, that also interests me.

I don't want one that was made in China.

So, a seal code premium down the road?  A substitute for a "first edition" certificate...early and European seal codes???

The numbers are taken off the VIP card or queue number.  The inscriptions including the numbers were specified by the buyers. Buyers used their VIP card no or entry card no to designate that,  But someone could have wrote the lords prayer and the the two dudes would have written that on the box verbatim.  Hence, someone could have asked them to write 001.

What were they thinking about during the hours they spent queueing? I guess there´ll be more than a few 001 and 150´s. Maybe they´ll learn when the chargeback comes in.

Where does this 20,000 10179s come from?

Hmmm... To be honest... I heard or read that number somewhere, and it somehow got stuck in my mind. It was more? Interesting. Well 40,000 would still not make this set ubiquitous.

Yes, but the entire world population can´t drop 800 USD on a lego set, as well as maybe 0.001% can perfectly buy 100 of them to resell. I guess by the time the have made 50-60k copies, they´ll have satisfied most of the demand from currently waiting real end users.

This was about the old set. But okay... lets say that 60k satisfies current demand, and production stops after 4 years or so. If indeed the old set was also produced in higher numbers I would expect that history is going to repeat itself at least to some extend.

Unless production is going to hum along of course.
