For those "waiting on new stock".  Lego CS  told me today likely to be 1 1/2 months to ship.  My order went through about 10 til 9am EST.  Thrill of purchasing on launch day is no longer possible.

Isn't It the standard wait time for backordered sets? 30 working days is about 1 1/2, right? If so, wouldn't that be an easy answer instead of a thoughtful one?

Signed set with limited edition VIP card just sold for over £2500 on eBay ?

So it´s now worth more than 10179 after only 2 days.

Has anyone been checking sold 10179 prices lately? Not a single sale this week on Ebay, just fakes.

I guess it paid off to wait on the line.

For that amount, it would have paid to fly over from the US and wait on line.

How many units did he actually sign - 150?

It will be interesting to see the % of those sold on ebay and if the numbers add up.

There will always be another Double VIP event.

Fake news....Seriously, who is hyping this set?  A couple of hundred people on some LEGO fan sites?  You have to filter out the noise.  LEGO is doing this on purpose.  Don't fall for the BS.  Nobody knows how many were produced or if it's in such demand.  If a couple of thousand were made, that doesn't go very far.

You want hype? Out of stock! Retiring soon! Book it!

Or pay a good forger.

Easy to forge. I personally don't see how a signature can add so much value. It's just a normal box otherwise.

Unless someone decided not to queue for signing all 150 should have been signed. The ones with the 100 VIP cards are going for the most.

im watching a card that's over £500 with a day to go.

Ok so there have been 6 signed ones sold so far on ebay europe plus 3 on sale at auction right now.

I also wonder how the pre order sellers are getting on if they missed on getting one!

I guess that why the cards add more value. Only 100 of em and more hassle to clone if imagine. If someone's got the box signed with the same number on the card etc it should give more confidence to buyer??

So you confirm 150 sold that could have potentially been signed and only 100 of those had numbered VIP cards?  I wonder what the designer will be using his staff discount on buying in the following days?

If someone wanted to just grab the Falcon and leave on the night they could have but everyone I saw queued up for the signing. I jut wished I got more of the glossy brochures signed. They are going for 50 quid!

The 150 cards that were given to those waiting in line and the black VIP cards for the first 100 in line and the receipt is what authenticates it as genuine. The signature is just the icing on the case. If I was buying I would insist on those three items being included to justify such a big markup. Without that evidence then anyone can buy a gold pen and scribble and claim it's one of the 150. I doubt anyone who's looking to part with that much cash would agree to a sale without those aforementioned item.

20,000 copies means that 1 in about 375,000 can have it, worldwide. Not sure what your definition is, but I call that rare. And even so, if I remember correctly, it took Lego between 2007 and 2010 to sell them all. It's only after that, that they became really desirable.

I think that the analogy with the van Gogh paintings in terms of what something is worth is perfectly valid.

Where does this 20,000 10179s come from?

Yeah but these people seem to be from the TAKE MY MONEY NOW no questions asked brigade.

I see one guy has already sold 2 signed copies with consecutive numbers and number 108 has sold twice already! Good to see the staff were vigilant about enforcing buying limits.

Yup, receipt is nicely tucked away with VIP card :)

Tinder works well!

So the numbers sold so far are 006 perhaps @TabbyBoy got that one, 035, 083,108, 109, 1 unknown with stock photo (possible scam).

The ones currently listed are 1 with hidden number, 024, 039, 090, 138 and 150 (unverified) 2 signed with no numbers but VIP cards 21 and 81

What might get confusing is that some are selling it based on there number in queue 1-150 and some are selling based on VIP card 1-100.

These 2 aren't the same, as the VIP cards were handed out randomly. So my queue number card is different to VIP card number.

I felt the VIP card was of more value so had that signed on the box of Falcon.

Yeah, the numbers I have taken are from the box,  unless otherwise stated. It seems that the first boxes were not signed with numbers as some smartarse reseller scum only thought of that later! Maybe it was 006.....
