  • Finally got around to building a LEGO set since earlier this summer.  I really like this BB-8 set.  Much like the R2 set, I wasn't looking forward to the build but was happy afterwards. here

  • One of my BB-8s that I ordered online from Target had two popped seals. Instead of exchanging it for a new one when (and if) my local stores get replenished any time soon, I decided to crack it open a

A nice set, but has nowhere near as much appeal as R2-D2. I'll pass.

All the kids I know like BB8 more than R2. Until he has a bigger role in the new Star Wars films, your statement will only apply to old crustys like Crustybeaver  who've been fans of Star Wars since the original films and the prequels.

That price point is appealing too. R2 was always a bit on the expensive side.

I have the same problem with this model as i did with R2-D2; the circular parts look too "blocky".

With R2 i fixed his round dome by adding the infamous cheese slops and tiles to his dome and he looks great, however i'm not sure that method will work as well (if at all) with this set, willing to try though, at the very least he will look good next to R2.

Would someone please compare this guy to the UCS R2. Are they to scale with each other?

Is this an exclusive?  It's not showing up in Targets system when I scan the UPC.  Reports of it showing up in store at Walmart so far.

It is not a store exclusive to anyone.

I cannot wait for Friday. Free Scarif trooper, poster, and double VIP. I will be in line to get it for my personal collection.

Agreed. I don't normally buy sets on "day-1" but this set and accompanying promos check all the boxes for me.

Triple VIP on Star Wars sets for Force Friday II, Scarif Trooper polybag promo... This BB-8 set is a day-1 buy for me!

Where is Triple VIP on Star Wars being advertised? Lego shop is only advertising Double VIP in the USA

That is correct.
