These sets are now becoming very hard to find in the wild. Unfortunately, buyers are just as hard to find.

Do you have a favourite warrior that you think will be the best performer or do you have no love for these pointy-headed beasts assembled from technic parts bin left-overs ?

I voted for Ekimu as he is the only goodie and seems to be the one that is now the hardest to find.

Bionicle is one of the better current investment themes and will be better than most in the future.  Some kids and adults like myself really enjoy them and since it is a retired theme (except for a few in TRUs and smaller Mom and Pop shops), what is left will be sought after given some time.  They will never reach crazy levels, but three to four time MSRP is not unheard of.

As for the best investments...Bad guys always win.

My kids are interested in these and the fact that they are not moving at Toys R Us means that I can still get them for them for Christmas.

This year and next!

Ekimu seems to have had the lowest production, at least in Europe and was one of the first retiring soon sets to sell out. 13, 14 and 15 can still be found easily but 16 is quite scarce now.

I guess people will want all of them, particularly the 4 baddies to build the super baddie.

Yeah, there´s a definite lack of collectibility in the current Lego portfolio - ok the Brickheadz have a number on each box but there are few lines where you need to collect models to build a bigger model or to combine stuff like the dragon sanctuary.

Yes.   Besides the tired Collectible Minifigures theme, there isn't much.

You can make the 40th Anniversary Technic car from 3 other models and there are a few subthemes like Friends theme park, City Volcano and the modulars but I don´t see any home runs.

I would go with Lewa and Onua. Both are pretty scarce on Bricklink even if they've not reached Ekimu's price thus far.
