January 13, 20187 yr I just completed building one and I love it. Of course made some bonehead mistakes deep in the snot backing and had to peel some apart to fix it but hey, that's LEGO
January 13, 20187 yr John Lewis are still holding stock...Sent from my SM-G950F using Brickpicker Forum mobile app
January 13, 20187 yr They're just depleting their stock to make it more difficult to get the 60yr promo at the end of the month
January 13, 20187 yr Well if it's gone, I'm going to speculate that this set will hit £300 very quickly.
January 14, 20187 yr I just can't believe that this will retire so soon. Are there any examples of sets that went C2C, then came back and remained on sale for months / years more?
January 14, 20187 yr lol, with the success of this set people actually believe it's going to be retired anytime in the next year without multiple future production runs?!
January 14, 20187 yr Does anyone know if Lego put a number on the sets produced for each Ideas set? (due to the creator getting a percentage per sale I thought there could be a cut off)If so this set would be at its limit for sure.
January 14, 20187 yr This set will be limited to how many they can sell.So the next combi or tower bridge then? [emoji6]

January 14, 20187 yr Average life is about 15months? adventure time had 12 months YS had 14 months ecto 1 had 18 months so earliest Saturn 1 can go is April, but as late as December? Edited January 14, 20187 yr by andyposterfan
January 14, 20187 yr Yep I’m probably a bit off with my time but you get the drift. More knowledgeable members will have the correct info. Ecto would have been a very good seller so I’d expect that sort of time frame. Edited January 14, 20187 yr by Furious_george

January 14, 20187 yr It also went to sold out late December and came back. Strange things happening with this set, or Lego is toying with us..
January 14, 20187 yr Let's put it another way. We all k ow the clock is ticking on this set. We could have as soon as April (unlikely) or as late as year-end. Neither way there's enough certainty to start acquiring these when you feel the time is right for price / promos. I can't see it being discounted though. not many non-lego retailers for this set in the Uk. Just John lewis and another I believe?
January 14, 20187 yr It would be hilarious if this became the Tower Bridge of the IDEAS range. I wonder if they put a maximum earnings cap on the designer´s commission.

Only John Lewis and the other store have it in stock though.

January 14, 20187 yr I'm starting to feel a little smugness coming on. John Lewis now have 20 less ;-)

I think Research Institute and Mars Rover were the hardest to get so far. If LEGO agreed on a set amount of 21309 to produce as part of their contract with the designer, why not pull it if it's reached? They need production space for all the Star Warts and Pooper Heroes crap. If people are now panicking on not having enough 21309, point the blame at the mirror, there's been more than enough opportunities.
