The 229 price is still a good starting point, especially on Thursday . While some might frown at that price others are picking them up ,l; by being passive you are putting yourself at a disadvantage .

I'll be heading to a store close by tomorrow b/c I just can't make it out during the week (thursday) and snagging one at that price...$155 for a slave 1 out the door, fine by me as you say @Bold-Arrow :)

but $130s might have been just a bit finer ;)

  • Those clearance stickers probably have a small exclusion list on them that includes LEGO Construction Sets.

  • Gotta love it when the manager of the local TRU calls you and asks if you want all the leftovers from the BB-8 build....

  • I know it's a hassle but you need to pre-calculate your purchases when applying multiple discounts before heading to the register. More often than not, the cashier will screw up the series of button p

is this confirmed? i made some purchase on 4/21. Total purchase $108, point 216. i only put a dollar on the CC and the rest on GC.

i retract part of my statement after checking my balance vs receipt. partial pay (CC+GC) still yields the full rewards value.

Gotta love TRU, first I can't issue Rewards during their sale (a call to support netted me a $20 coupon but no fix), now that the sale is over and I have my reward threshold set to $100, I get a reward created automatically for $45 that I must use in 60 days.

Welcome to TRU rewards, issued when we say, not when you want them!

So I passed on a beat up UCS  Sandcrawler sitting on the floor of my local TRU yesterady. Be gentle all, I'm a part-out seller.

How much

Was 299.99, so would have been $209+ tax out the door. I eyed it for quite awhile, but walked out with (4) King Pig's Castles instead lol.

I don't think it has been mentioned yet, but according to Rewards "R" Us site, 10% off on Thursdays has been extended until 12/30/16.

  • Earn 2 points per $1 spent at Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us when you use your “R”Us Credit card (Purchases with account opening discount earns 1 reward point per dollar spent)
  • Earn 1 point for every $4 spent everywhere else MasterCard is accepted**
  • Get 10% off at “R”Us stores on Thursdays until 12/30/16**
  • Enjoy all the benefits of Rewards“R”Us

TRU might as well go ahead and make 10% CC Thursdays a permanent promo for now. They keep extending it out until a certain date only to extend it out further. They obviously realize this would kill their loyal Thur customer base if this deal ends

This is actually a tad surprising. A couple TRU managers I spoke to seemed pretty confident a different promo was forthcoming.

There was a survey that was sent out a few months back, suggesting that the promo was going to change.  It was soliciting feedback on a number of different options for Rewards and Discounts with CC.  That might be where they are getting their info.

Don't know if it's been posted yet. .. my favorite TRU cashier just told me that TRUTH (10% off Thursday ) will be extended through year end.

My local TRU would not price match Slave 1 to any other store's normal price of $199 AND let me use the 20% off coupon. I suppose that's normal?

I was hoping to use the master combo tomorrow. Price match/20%/10%/Gift cards

Yes, that is correct.  That's in their price match policy.  You either get the PM or you use the coupons.  Your better bet is to wait until TRUTH and use the coupon (20%), TRUTH (10%) and if you have a discounted gift card (e.g., eBay Gift Card Mall 15% off), you can get it down to about $140.  Sometimes it's YMMV on the CC / GC usage.  I never have no problem running my card for $5, and then using the gift card after that.

My store has twice now matched it down to 199 and allowed me to use the 20% off along with the 10% for TRUTH plus whatever rewards coupons I may have.

That is very very YMMV (yes I'm being redundant).  Just know that you've gotten very lucky, as it is against the PM policy.

Certainly NOT complaining but it also pays off to go to the same TRU for the last 10+ years and know most of the employees. Luck, absolutely, but also developing relationships with people over time that pays off..............:derisive:
