There are usually good tips here.  Watch the Daily Deals and Clearance forum.

If you don't know the practices of your local retailers, it might pay off to visit them a few times during clearance season to see how they do things.

Good idea. Living in south FL I have like 2-3 TRU 4-5 walmarts 4-5 targets 4-5 B&N etc all within 10 miles maybe even more lol. I don't think Lego is that big down here so that's good for me. I decided to wait like over a week on the B&N clearance and still found tons of good stuff!

If possible , grab the falcon on Thursday . Should be around $90 depending on the saving on the gc 

I think I'm going to grab their credit card. Just going to wait for something to get it with worth while. Also in the middle of buying a condo so don't want anything popping up on my credit yet. Maybe this summer in time for some clearance stuff

Or $125 at adhere to policy at all cost stores.

Just left TRU didn't see anything worth while and only clearance items were some bionicle sets..

If you wait long enough, every set becomes a TRU exclusive...

The 2 coupons won't stack . The register will take both but won't apply the 15/20% discount to an item even though it will show at the bottom of the receipt . 

Got to TRU and found a Slave 1 at $230. Opened a credit card and the guy just gave me 35% off plus 15% for using my gc. This store didn't have the Slave 1 when it was $200, but still a good deal.

So anyone think the Sith Infiltrator at $76 is a good price.  I really just want the new Maul fig.

Just buy the fig on eBay, save your money on a remake.

Is there a good day of the week to pop into Toys R Us stores to look for the big exclusive sets like Slave 1 and Sandcrawler?  Or does it vary by store?

My store told me they have no specific delivery days but YMMV...

On a random Saturday last month I saw 2 of the new 76052 Batcaves in a Toys R US but I didn't have any coupons on me at the time.  That was the only time this year I saw an exclusive/collector's set in a Toys R US.

I cannot get that code or 979378 to work on a $39.99 set ....

I couldn't get it to work either.

for $2.98 - 20%
That's like $1.20 a minifig at most.
 

Trying to see if FRIENDS20 and 979378 stack - but the "Promotional Code" option has disappeared from the checkout process, both for Clearance items as well as for normally priced items. Even when the item has the subtitle indicating it qualifies for the promo. Anyone else seeing this?

I received the physical coupon in mail for $5 off $30 and it said the start date was this Friday 4/29 - 5/21. Not sure if that is the reason...

Not sure - they are advertising the 979378 coupon all over the site, with no explanation of the time constraint AFAIK.

I see that too. Wondering if they are updating website as the 20% sale is now done, and the larger, more expensive sets are still not listed on website yet (since they took those sets down for the sale). Maybe they listed this promo code too soon or its just not activated yet.
