  • Those clearance stickers probably have a small exclusion list on them that includes LEGO Construction Sets.

  • Gotta love it when the manager of the local TRU calls you and asks if you want all the leftovers from the BB-8 build....

  • I know it's a hassle but you need to pre-calculate your purchases when applying multiple discounts before heading to the register. More often than not, the cashier will screw up the series of button p

Exciter, I asked in this thread and the daily deals thread and dos not see anyone answer the question in either of those as no one had tried in store. If I missed the answer, I apologize.

You weren't the only person asking since yesterday. There have been multiple posts with the same question and answer. Sorry if I sounded snippy. I sometimes do that when I leave short answers.

I also saw you asked on Slickdeals. Yes, I'm stalking.

was at least able to pick up some of the speed champion sets that don't seem to be discounted too often.

That's one of the things I'm focusing on, too.  Since those are a TRU exclusive, this is the type of event that's going to help in picking them up.

I went to TRU today and walked out with nothing.  This rarely happens but spring clearance has taken a huge bite out of my wallet with B&N and Target last week.  I was very interested in the Arctic Basecamp, Technic Container Truck, and a couple Hobbit sets but they were not marked down at all.  It seems the "clearance blast" going on right now no longer applies to the first two sets which were on sale before Easter I think.  I almost bought a Battle Droid Troop Carrier for my personal collection since that rarely seems to go on sale, but I convinced myself I can get it cheaper later this year.  It was a sad LEGO day.

My store still had one Technic Container Truck left.  I hoped it was still $54 or whatever, nope, $89.99.

They did have Chima: Eglor's Twin Bikes for $9.98, so I picked up a few of those w/ 20% off.

Yeah I was hoping for clearance prices on those sets plus 20% off but it was not meant to be.  The "good" Chima is pretty much gone from this store.  The rest I would only consider picking up at 70% off or better.  Doubt that will happen.

yeah i see the hydra fortress and some bricktobers.  I've always like both but I seem to be the only one on the bricktobers.  hydra fortress is in my opinion a decent buy at discount for the figs.  The set itself is fairly lame.

I got the hydra base last week. Was on sale for like 32 dollars at TRU this week it's like 46 lmao...

It was $32 or $36 yesterday.

$25.79 a month ago, even better!

:girldance:

Oh well, not everyday is like some glorious March day...

The bad news is that they restocked the Hydra Fortress at my TRU this week.  They had 6-8 on the shelf that weren't there before.  No matter how many times the Super Heroes and/or TRU exclusives bite me in the rear, I keep coming back for more.

The first rule about Speed Champions is you dont talk about Speed Champions

The falcon is 120 after 20% off. Is it worth it?

Depends on what you want to buy it for: For personal use, perhaps - this is a deal, not a spectacular deal, but it is a popular set so unlikely to get discounted much. For investment: meh. Folks have been picking these up for <$100 over the WM clearance season so you have competition.

Do you want to build and swoosh it, or are you going to hold it?  You won't lose money, but it should hit better prices later.

A little of both! Lol..I honesty don't like any of the SW 7 sets. (Wasn't a big fan of the movie) more of a original trilogy kind of guy. Looking to enter the buy and hoard Legos...so going to be new to the game. I'll just wait. Do some of you just weekly go to all the big retailers and hope for the best? Or wait for big clearance events like the B&N from a few weeks ago. Trying to get best practices (don't want to drive around wasting time lol)

There are usually good tips here.  Watch the Daily Deals and Clearance forum.

If you don't know the practices of your local retailers, it might pay off to visit them a few times during clearance season to see how they do things.
