Checking over my spreadsheet, I saw that I got some really good clearance prices at TRU around mid-February last year.  So I'm expecting/hoping for the same in a couple of weeks.

Picked up 3 Villa Savoye with 10% TRUTH. Somehow they had to override manually for TRUTH 10% though. Also each set came with swamp police helicopter polybag as a promo.

Yep. My spreadsheet shows that mid-February was BOGO 40% on City.

Yeah, it wasn't a straight 30% when all the 20% off coupons were available. It was more like 28% (because of how they applied the discounts), plus rewards, plus any further discount if you used discounted gift cards. The real boon was when you could stack the $5 off $25 coupons...those really were the days.

Hopefully TRU will resume coupons sometime in 2016.  If not, it's going to be a long wait until Bricktober.

If coupons don't start showing up TRU may see a steady rise in "price matched" purchases.

Well they did not stop the coupons, they just excluded toys this time around.  Most of the past coupons were really BRU, that they just allowed us to use on almost anything at TRU.   If this exclusion is the new norm we will have to wait for the 20% or BOGO-40 sales.  Even looking like clearance this year will be pretty weak.  less than 4 months till may the 4th....

With most sets still being marked up $10 - $15, it might take more than a coupon to move sets.

Does TRUTH stack with price match?  I didn't see where it was explicitly excluded in the TRU CC offer terms.

Nope.  Price Matching at TRU negates any couponing or discount.

Yeah I saw a few for 9.99 last week. Only a couple and beat up boxes so I didn't bother.

Indeed. Even if they are at 50% I'm not sure I'll be getting any. I do have some rewards to use up before Feb. 8th. Was hoping for a coupon, but it might just have to be the good ol TRUTH + rewardsRus... I'll need to brush up on the MSRP sets before I go.

What r we trying ? 

Not sure what is going on...  My email notification of the post had a link to a PDF for 15% off one regular-priced toy item.  Valid Jan 19 - Feb 17.  Appears to be one of the electronic coupons you can get at toysrus.com

Doesn't show up for me at toysrus.com.  I did have the following under BRU.  If someone else has the same, perhaps they could post the coupon number below the barcode (500009769187 for me) to see if they are unique or generic coupons.  (Or if someone happens to recall as well).
