TRUTH Tactics : and now the end is here

I honestly don't know. You were right, they were on clearance. They didn't know why it wasn't working properly so we ended up refunding the transaction then ring the whole order with manager override. Got the Fortress Smash for $18 each. I was afraid that the reward would be invalid after we used it but she scanned it and it surprisingly worked a second time. Hopefully it didn't screw up my reward balance.

  • Those clearance stickers probably have a small exclusion list on them that includes LEGO Construction Sets.

  • Gotta love it when the manager of the local TRU calls you and asks if you want all the leftovers from the BB-8 build....

  • I know it's a hassle but you need to pre-calculate your purchases when applying multiple discounts before heading to the register. More often than not, the cashier will screw up the series of button p

2 orders again today. 2 exact same items. Exact same cashier. Exactly different totals...

Well hopefully they got lower.

No. They got higher & the cashier was stumped so, I just left. If it weren't for these coupons, I'd never ever be stepping foot in a TRU...

I had them scan my rewards number, scanned 2 items, then the 20%, 15%, then the rewards ($40). Then I got to the payment screen and did the partial pay. The retail for the 2 items were $86. My total was $41 to pay. So basically, the 20%, 15%, and TRUTH barely did anything. The $40 rewards alone brings it down to $46.

Looking at your receipt, what I see is this: Item 1 $42.98 - $20 reward = $22.98 - 20% did not take = $22.98 - 10%($2.30) = $20.68

Item 2 $42.98 - $20 reward = $22.98 - 10%(2.30) = $20.68 - 20%($0.20 actually 2%) = $20.48 - 15%($3.07) = $17.41

So first you got hosed because they took the rewards off up front. They'll do that if you present the rewards up front. Try to "not mention" your rewards until after all coupons are scanned.  I imagine the 20% off didn't work because they were clearance items... but the 20% coming off as 2% on the second item... well... that's just crazy. And then again, despite being on clearance, the 15% did work. So, it's basically wild west out there. There's no telling what will work in any given store on any given day.

I know the % off coupons won't work on clearance, but does anyone know if the $5 off will without an override?

Stacks for me. Used it 3x today with my 15% off for opening a tru cc account. I had closed it mid spring but decided to resurrect the account.

Only at TRU. Total was $121 & they couldn't get $10 off $100 to work. Some things never change. What's that saying "doing the same thing & expecting different results"...?

Were you using other coupons with it or just the $10 off?

It might be the number of coupons you are trying.

Last night I tried $5 off $25, 20%, 15% and TRUTH and it wasn't allowing the $5 off $25 because it was the smallest of 4 discounts.

I had 3 items with 20%, 15% & $10 off. Is that not right?

I've had the $5 'break' the other coupons.  That is, when she scanned it, the 20 and 15 dropped.  It would work on its own, and the 20 and 15 would work, but when I tried to use all 3, only the 5 would work.

Generally it's 3 coupons. After that the register chokes.

Were you also doing TRUTH? Because that counts as a coupon and will make it kick out one of the others.

No. It was today. You're not trying to figure out what went wrong, right? I told you it was TRU. LOL...

Boy, I hope the Macks fix this garbage above soon. I hate replying to quotes on the app anymore...
