  • Those clearance stickers probably have a small exclusion list on them that includes LEGO Construction Sets.

  • Gotta love it when the manager of the local TRU calls you and asks if you want all the leftovers from the BB-8 build....

  • I know it's a hassle but you need to pre-calculate your purchases when applying multiple discounts before heading to the register. More often than not, the cashier will screw up the series of button p

The fine print says "only original coupons accepted" Does anyone know if they stick to that policy?

My TRU has a strict "only physical coupons" policy.  Some of these guys can show them their LARP Alliance Membership Cards and still get the discounts.

Bold leaves the 'fine print' out and the register doesn't tell them it must be surrendered, so if the store isn't Exciter's, you can use it as many times as you want from your phone.

Um..... why?

We've been having a discussion over in Doctor Who about whether or not reward redemption should count as a low buy in. Is there a blog or diagram to explain that rewards dollars affect purchase price in the same way as a gift card does and should not be considered a deal? A little help, please?

Someone came up with this once:

anyone try stackability yet? 15% is per item, 20% is per transaction. hope it works with truth.

are you sure 20% is per transaction? that is a great news for me

isnt that what the fine print on the back of the coupon say? whos got the front? may be just wishful thinking on my part

it appears that 15% off item has the same fine print, so i may be wrong. looking at previous pages and page 1 its still inconclusive re: 20% coupon.

If someone can confirm this, that would be great...

trying to apply considerable restraint here .....

so you left out some information for further speculation, i see how it is :) now we need a brave soul to test it out in store

20% worked fine for me but I only tried it with one item so not sure if it's whole transaction. I also tried they $5/25 and 15% and neither worked with it. Not sure if it'll be the same for everyone but that was my experience.

I was having a dirty mind moment. I haven't seen the front either. going by what "the thumb" said

I didn't make a front I only care about the back ;)

I decided to give TRUTH tactics a whirl today. I normally order all of my stuff online and visit my LBR once or twice a year but thought it might be time to perfect TRUTH and Barnes and Noble to button up the brick and mortar side of things while I have time off work.

Applied for the TRU mastercard online and headed out to one of my local TRU with the $5 off $25, 15% off Babies R US, and 20% off TRU coupon saved on my phone. Saving the 15% credit card first purchase coupon for later. Thought I would try to get the process down somewhat before attempting tomorrow with the extra 10% off as I generally f***k everything up the very first time I try something.

Was looking for Dr Who Ideas sets but they had none so went for At-At 75054 instead. Was listed as $109.99 on the shelf. Got to cashier, scanned my rewards number, scanned the item, scanned the 20%, 15% and $5 off $25 in that order. Coupons would not stack so the manager came over. Manager said 15% and 20% cannot be used together but said $5 off $25 should work with 20% off. I also noticed the set rang up as $119.99 so I let the manager know it was $10 overpriced. She then whipped out a calculator, punched some buttons, had me rescan the 20% coupon and total was $70.39 which sounded ok to me (receipt pic is attached).

I am sure I messed up something but for now as far as that store is concerned the 15% and 20% will not stack. The total on my receipt made no sense whatsoever but that seems like par for the course for these brick and mortar shenanigans. I will try again at another TRU tomorrow and see how I go.

You got the 109.99 x .8 to get to 87.99, then that x .8 to get 70.39....they applied the 20% twice in other words.  Nice. YMMV, as this looks just like a typical TRU screw up.  The $32 off must be the 10 price drop then the $22 off that  (20% of 110).
