So, for 2017 we have the following exclusive sets confirmed:

Janary: 10255 Creator Assembly Square

March (TBC): 71042 Pirates of the Caribbean Ship

May (TBC) 75144 UCS Snowspeeder

In the rumour mill are:

UCS Millennium Falcon and UCS ISD, like every year!

Fairground set

Another large Technic / Speed Champions car but I think it is too soon after the Porsche.

some type of plane / train /ship is expected in the creator range after 2 years without.

A large SH set should also be in the pipeline, maybe from Batman Lego movie but that already has AA 3.0

Maybe a Ninjago Movie one too.

Tried to have a quick look on eBay to see if MF rumours had done anything to prices , but sadly it's mostly Chinese copy's so hard to tell.  Release date for UCS Snowspeeder still may 4th?

Yes,  I expect 8-10 D2C´s so there should be a couple more Creator ones at lower price points and maybe another large landmark?

If we escape with only one rehash, we are doing well too.

I hope the regular WV is set is not counted among those, as that is officially also Creator Expert.

If not, then I think one of them will be a car, as that has become sort of a yearly thing. However I hope that it is not a car, it is time to do another vehicle type, which would be my guess then. Either way, one of them is very likely a vehicle.

Since landmarks don't seem to be released yearly, I would guess the second one to be either a fairground attraction or something new. As fairground was not a star seller I would think LEGO would try something new indeed, and I would actually welcome a new and interesting concept. I don't think this would be a large building as it could overlap with the Fishing Store, and the space theme will be covered by Ideas too.

Much depends on TB and T1. Replace and retire those and we are on the money.

A fairground set should be on the cards to at least make it a "theme" now FM is done.

If the Golf GTI is chosen as an IDEAS set then maybe another car would not make sense. I bet on a plane or ship and maybe a non xmas train.

Please fairground. Please fairground.

Please not Grand Carousel 2.0

You know that´s the highest probability.

I'd love to see the GTI get approved, Saving for the real thing as we speak.

As far as a new creator set, is it possible that they produce another train so close to the HT release? Again, my personal preference would be a ship of some sort, but would be happy if they skipped making another car.

Grand Carousel 2.0 is a possibility. I don't think it will be a remake though. I think it will be a scaled down version, if it happens.

FM is retired. And the Friends sets had their fairground. So TLG has an idea how it sells.

If you look on LEGO Shop at Home, GC is listed as a retired part of a Fairground theme.

I'd rather see a power function rollercoaster tho.

Add a couple of cheese slopes and a mini helicopter and it´s a done deal.

We know that TLG like to rotate releases so it´s feasible there is another car PLUS a non road vehicle (last ones were EEE, HE and SC from 2012/13). They would want at least a couple of sets for the sub 100 USD market.

Don't forget Winter Village. My guess is... 10257.

Yeah, that´s 8 including a winter set and I have a feeling there will be at least one more and they will double up launches in the summer.

Either a 3rd UCS Star Wars (assuming MF rumour is true) or a Creator vehicle gets my vote.

Is the 21137 Minecraft Mountain Cave confirmed? Not that I mind, but I'm somewhat shocked at the release of a 2nd D2C Minecraft set, and the overall volume of sets on this line. We're starting to push like 40 sets here from a theme that always seems discounted on Amazon.

Yes. UPC number, box dimensions and everything. 5kg and same box as a Death Star.

They have to retire some from this theme, right?

This year is a tad light on interesting stuff. No unique Creator D2C sets and the second Minecraft D2C disappoints. Is that theme such a good seller? Were people buying the Village en masse?

The Mine and Ender Dragon have been good investments for me. We´ll see how the Vilage does when it´s gone  but I don´t think it´s a worth seller than ToA.

Those Minecraft sets move units at Xmas time but it does seem weird that both themes are going to get such large D2C sets with 2 still on the market, in Europe at least.

I´m guessing that Ferris Wheel, ToA and The Village will all retire this year along with SHIELD, Slave and Tie Fighter plus our old friends T1 and TB. 8 in 8 out would be too logical, though.

Who knows. I do know the game is wicked popular. And although the individual sets aren't necessarily much to look at, when you combine all 30 together you've probably got something really magical. Of course, you're going to have to sacrifice your dining room table for display purposes, so there's that....

They might want to keep Ferris Wheel around a bit longer to support the sale of the new Carrousel. Maybe an early 2018 retirement...

I do agree with you regarding Temple of Airjitzu. It's definitely (in my estimation, heh heh) going to get retired before 2018 arrives.

The Village I don't find too likely to retire this year. It's not even a year old yet! If the Minecraft sets sell well enough, then there's room for both The Village and the Mountain Cave sets.

SHIELD carrier is pretty much a sure bet to be retired this year.

Regarding Slave-1 and TIE Fighter ... I'm guessing the Slave-1 will go before the TIE Fighter, and is a likely candidate for retirement by end of this year.

TLG might surprise us by moving the Mini Cooper to retirement before the VW T1. I believe the T1 sells better than the Cooper, even after all these years of availability!

Tower Bridge ... Yeah, it's long overdue time for it to go. :P
