December 18, 20168 yr Dinos are always popular and the light brick is a good inclusion with the robot set.

February 2, 20178 yr This 31070 set looks to be using the same windscreen as the 10248 Ferrari F40. That means it's about the same size and could easily fit in with the Advanced Creator car models. Makes this set really interesting! Edited February 2, 20178 yr by Haay

It's a bit larger than I expected (comparing it to the minifigures for scale). Price is 49.99€ in Germany, so will probably be 59.99€ for us. Still, seems like very good value if parts count is at all similar to the F40. I read on zusammengebaut that it has a cool feature: push down on the rear-spoiler to open the side doors. Interestingly zusammengebaut mentions that they weren't allowed to shoot any close ups at the fair.
February 19, 20178 yr Just adding the most recent pictures from the NY Toy Fair here. Interesting names for the houses. Seems like they are promoting them as budget modulars. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but the houses would look so much nicer on a baseplate. It also looks like they are really packing as much detail as possible in a small set, which makes it all look very cramped. I still like these sets, but honestly they're not in the same league as 5771 or 5891 for example. Nice looking set, but missing the fuel tank and boosters. Nice looking set and good value. Budget F40 basically.
February 19, 20178 yr I realy like the second build of 31069 and could see putting 2 or 3 together to make a nice big house. @c_rpg I found the use of the word Modular in the set name interesting. Any pics of the backs of the boxes for these 3 sets? I am wondering if they are meant to connect in some way.
February 19, 20178 yr Could LEGO finally be getting their act together? This is the best range of CREATOR sets that I've seen in a long time. I reckon the biggest winners will be the Shuttle & Track Racer, depending on price in the UK of course!

The recently retired space shuttle (60078) was showing good signs (RRP £18, reached selling highs of £30-35 only weeks after retirement) but this new set will no doubt set a ceiling as why buy the old set as new one is almost identical. Most people were hoping for a couple of years in between space sets but who knows now, they might even release an updated 60080 spaceport in the near future.

March 29, 20178 yr It seems like CREATOR sets are gategrashing the CITY thread ;-) It may just be me (usually is!), but why do LEGO no longer include ridge tiles on top of a sloped roof? You can't even buy them off the website this days and roofs look incomplete without them IMHO. For the buildings and houses that I build, I need to buy those tiles off the likes of eBay and I'm not sure if I'm getting the real thing or not. If the CREATOR shuttle and blue car can be had at 50% off, there's the potential for some profit ;-)
March 30, 20178 yr Author Not only are the primary builds quite good but the alternates are just as interesting and fun instead of seeming like leftover filler concepts. I am pleasantly impressed to say the least with this year's offerings all of which essentially feel as though there is a fundamental requisite in acquiring three of each to properly build everything together.

I know it is bad internet etiquette to quote yourself but I was amazed to see when I got these today 31067-9 do connect to make a "MODULAR" MSRP would be $140 and piece count is 1470. Check out the use of the word "MODULAR" on the back.
