Of the 100 ordered I managed to keep 15 after three different shipments. Some lucky individual will have picked up 285 of them to part out for pennies from where-ever damaged Argos stock goes to. The biggest shame is that I sold the ones I did keep only last summer for more that four times my buy-in. The only way i buy from Argos anymore is to store collect, and even then they often come out damaged. I just don't buy anything from Argos now - period. I did have a moan at Boots when they left my last shipment outside in the rain, it's a shame as I'd have done well on those advent calendars at 46% off. They often have good 3-for-2 deals on top of other discounts but, I'll try to collect next time. If I see something on offer in Argos I just ask another retailer to price match.
October 17, 20169 yr Just bought the last handful of these from my local Tesco store. I think it's safe to say they are on their way out.

October 17, 20169 yr Wondered where all those cheap Tumblers were coming from all of a sudden. Edited October 17, 20169 yr by Val-E

Hurry folks ends at midnight. I've never ever had a FVF offer and still haven't. I've given the greedy bar stewards at eBay over £2,500 in fees this year and I've had sweet FA in return! I'd like to have this offer for the VERY FIRST TIME so that I can get rid of all my SSDs and there's no way in hell that eBay are getting their filthy claws on a £80 FVF from me! Saying that I'm absolutely livid with eBay giving me no FVF offers whatsoever in 15 years is an understatement. Is this because it doesn't apply to private or business accounts? Those are the only types of account I have. Can somebody please PM me a screenshot of exactly where you see this offer as I may (but, doubt it) be looking in the wrong place - thanks! I do get free insertion fees but that's nothing compared to the FVF offer. I'M REALLY JEALOUS OF YOU LUCKY GUYS !!! Edited October 17, 20169 yr by TabbyBoy

I've missed out on a fair few of the advertised ones but this one finally came through. I've always wondered whether having a listing drafted and ready to go helps you get on the list. This one just came into my normal messages inbox. Does seem a bit unfair that they don't give offers to their best sellers. There's one guy I've noticed that's placing dozens of placeholder listings. Val-e I didn't think the Tumblers had dropped much on the listings I saw but did notice plenty dropping price on 10240. Hopefully the impatient will drop stock and what's left will go up.

I've only got a feedback rating of 59,227 at 100%. I've just sent them an email to complain and also reminded them of how unfair the FVF is on postage. I always have a lot of draft listings ready to go live and have some out-of-stock placeholders also. eBay/PayPal snatching 14% of the £800 I get from an SSD is really taking the Mick. I miss the old days of the 5.25% FVF and no FVF on postage. I get free listing fees but, they can shove these up their arses as far as I'm concerned. No wonder most of my follow up business is outside of eBay! It seems like the FVF promotion applies to all qualifying sellers at the same time which means that the market is likely to become saturated. Does anyone know if it happens at different times? If it's all at the same time with a flooded market, they can stick that offer where the sun don't shine too! C'mon, we need a competitor to knock that fat greedy eBay parrot off it's perch!

This one is a two day window in which to list up too 100 items with £1 fvf. There have been others that have been 50% and 75% recently but I wasn't selected for those. Surely someone out there knows how the selections are made.

Up yours eBay, you ain't getting FVF on postage from me on these! What would you charge? I think those that get the £1 FVF offer could make a few quid off those that don't. I'd rather give one of you lot 5% than anything to those gannets.
October 17, 20169 yr In the new Lego press release of the assembly square, they state: " Collect and build an entire town with the LEGO Creator Expert Modular Building series 10243 Parisian Restaurant, 10246 Detective’s Office and 10251 Brick Bank ". I think the cinema and the pet shop are retired! Edit: sorry was meant for retirement thread Edited October 17, 20169 yr by Legojona
October 17, 20169 yr Wrong thread for this but traditionally they only reference the last 3 modulars -look on the back of the boxes.

I've finally got the offer from eBay (very quick response) but they only applied it to my personal not business account. I should really sell these sets on my business account as the original purchases are itemised on my books. However, I could find a way to "lose stock" and just create a one off listing for the SSDs on my private account shortly. It'll be on my tax return so that HMRC get their "fee". Cash deals are still the best ;-)
October 18, 20169 yr Yeah, in the T's and C's it actually states that the offer is not open to business sellers. Just to clear up any future confusion for everyone.

October 18, 20169 yr Not sure this is exactly the right thread but as we're talking about damaged boxes, I received 2 from TRU. Full order was 4 items, 2 came boxed all ok, other 2 came in an envelope (sad face) squashed flat. Does anyone know if TRU respond to customer service emails or do I have to sit on the phone fora a couple of hours to see if I can do anything about it? Thanks.

From recent experience, I now only use click & collect and never delivery unless it's LEGO themselves. I've been burned badly by Argos (NEVER to return) and Boots would've been OK if I collected the boxed shipment rather than have it left outside in heavy rain. For a quick turnaround, just take it back to your nearest TRU branch if there's one close enough. These companies get boxes dirt cheap in volume so there's no excuse fro crap P&P. This is sort of applicable to this thread as poor P&P is a definite deal breaker for me ;-)
October 19, 20169 yr I hate Asda, they keep taking my money off me. Ok, I get Lego sets at great prices for that money, but I want to think I have some self control. Sadly, I have none.
