It amazes me how fast prices drop. It's almost like there's an early adopter tax now.  Which is why I'm holding off more rogue one personal builds until they get discounted.

With SW & SH it seems like 20% off is the real rrp that you'll see within a month of release, 33% is a reasonable discount but resellers shouldn't consider investment until the discount is 40% or above

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Problem is that's not an exact science, what's the best discount you've seen on any of the Jurassic World sets, 20% is the best I've seen on them. You wait too long for the 40% discount and you might just miss out on a set you want.

That's why I specifically said SW & SH.

The rule only really holds true for these themes.

It's been a crazy, expensive and hopefully lucrative few weeks for me in the UK but, I'm now done until Black Friday. The Asda C&C point had its store room full to the top this morning and the boxes were mine, all mine! I gave the guy there £20 for a few drinks as he helped me load up the van (Luton as Transit was too small!). It's all now in the lock-up to mature as I've already got the Xmas stash set aside ready to go. It's costing me about £500 a year in beer and lunches for the storage space ;-)

@Asda & Tesco... Congratulations for your excellent packing and customer service as only 2 sets (now parted out) were slightly damaged out of 366 bought this Summer!

@Argos... You lot have some serious work to do and that's why I took my business elsewhere!

I've just noticed the Fire Station at a good discount (thanks) and I've just ordered one for a family birthday present. If Dr Who's are still available for -£35 when I've cleared space, I'll buy more to fill that space ;-)

I should now have about 0.5% of what Emazers has!

I like the Poe's X-Wing set, and have one built on display at home. But I 'hate' that it's discounted so much now, because it reminds me again and again that I bought it wayyyy too early last April, paying wayyyy too much for it in hindsight while thinking at that time it was a decent offer! :(:(:(

Good thing I only bought 2 and built one for myself, so the loss on the other one is negligible in the grand scheme. But it still sucks and it's a lesson learned for me!

Same here. I bought also 2. Luckily,  it seems that I did not make a rookie mistake ;-)

I saw Firestation as well..pff...for a dutchmen this is a serious discount......shall I....arghh

update: delivery time unknown, 1 to 2 months!

On a dutch website someone stated to receive besides the London bus also a free Duplo 40167 first set for free when ordering. Still unconfirmed.

I bought a pair, when I ordered(around 13pm) he gave also one to two months.
My order will be delivered between 8/10 and 10/10, according to the email.

We are pleased to report that the following item will dispatch sooner than expected:
"LEGO City Fire 60110: Fire Station  Mixed"
    Previous estimated arrival date: October 27 2016 - December 02 2016
    New estimated arrival date: October 08 2016 - October 10 2016

Guys, you have 2.5 more years on the Fire Station and there´ll be another one along straight after. It´s a regular 50% off set so no reason to invest in it just yet. Personal build and gifts make sense. How is 60004 doing, btw?

My thoughts exactly. You could probably flip it for 70€, but not really a solid investment. Fire Station is almost exactly the same every time: Ladder Truck, Fire Chief's Car, Helicopter, two garages, one main building, sattelite dish and a pole.

Just look at 60004 and 7208. There's not really anything in those sets that is missing from this one and vice versa. They haven't appreciated much at all either.

My son can not wait 2.5 years.
By then he knows who is Santa Claus. I mean the guy from December 5.
And the other I sell to cover the shipping costs.

Ah, remember that set well when I was a little Timmy. No satellite dishes or helicopters in those days!

I can understand the reactions concerning the Fire station. But for me, as a dutchmen, who will hardly get 15% discount on City sets in The Netherlands this was a great opportunity. One for my son and one as a quick 20 euro profit to cover the shipment costs (just as separator mentioned) and get the fire station for my son even cheaper. Investment wise I agree with you..  I was Lucky, not long after my order the fire station was back to 55 pounds.

For City birthday presents:  the Deep See Exploration Vessel 60095 is still 53% off (dutch) RRP at Amazon.co.uk

Free Polybags this weekend with the Daily Mail. Poe's X-wing on Saturday and a Nexo Knights one on Sunday. Wouldn't mind an X-wing but not worth the petrol and parking to go to my nearest pickup point

amazon.co.uk - 60097 City Town Square 80P, Police Station 45P, 60104 City Airport 50P

Thanks. Town Square is a nice deal imo. I've been wanting to get this. 80£=90€, that's close enough to 50% off RRP (169.99€) over here.

LEGO City - Cargo Train - 60052

£79.97, 43% off

At this price had to get for personal build. Good price if you want to motorise the Xmas train

I'm going to order both 60051 and 60052 to part out. For £140 all in, it must make sense especially as people want power functions for Xmas.

Just now, TLKC said:

60051 is also 40% off - is this set enough to motorise thr xmas train?

Yes. All PF train sets have motor, IR, battery and controller, which is all you need.
