So TLG regional pricing department clearly apply the same flawed stereotypes as I do!

On the Swiss site it now says the bus will be included with orders over 55 EUR. Unfortunately no items are listed in EUR. The new site is just plain crap.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

I can now confirm that two of my orders where I used the code have been dispatched.

Both ordered from the same IP-address? And made the 2nd order while the first order was still being processed?

Heads-up: Nexo Knights The Fortrex listed at Brickwatch for ~ GBP 60 but on Amazon UK now for just ~ 48 GBP. That's close to 50% discount, including shipping.

Maximum 2 per order: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013JQDXKA/

In for 2. :)

Hmmm if Nexo knights goes for a few years wave 1 sets like this could be worth a punt.

On a similar note Captain Rex's At-Te is 38% off on Amazon UK which is a damn good price for a set that's only been around a few months. Turbo Tank has 32% off too.

Hmmm I'm not really digging Nexo Knights, but that is a huge discount.

Also:

Poe's X-Wing now down to just over 40£... They are really killing this one.

Rex's AT-TE down to 60£.

Imperial Assault Carrier is also down to 60£, but I'm not touching that turd.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm avoiding Nexo Knights completely, even at 40% off, will only touch it at 60%+.

This set released in Jan 16, unlikely to retire this year so only investment opportunity is to quick flip. Whilst this set is a good seller as kids love it, it can be found easily for 10-20% on a normal day, so even though it is 40% off after you take into account ebay fees etc not much profit.

People have stated that it may be a best seller for xmas, but I personally think that even if this set sells out it won't go much above RRP for the xmas qf.

That's my thought as well. Provided that Nexo Knights sticks around for a few years then the wave 1 flagship set (The Fortrex) could be a future winner. And at this large discount it could even be a quick flip for the upcoming gift-giving holiday season. :)

Ah dammit, this thread is giving me headaches every day now and to think I complained when it was quiet.

Im the same, meant to be saving for a house and just keep stockpiling on these bargins. Mrs would go bonkers if she knew what I have spent of late....and its nothing compared to you guys!!

Same here. The Brexit is hurting me here :D

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. Seems to me like this is a good time to stock up for christmas. I'll take SW sets at -40% any time (except maybe the turds like Imperial Assault Carrier or Takodana).

And besides most of the sets on amazon have a limit of 2-3 so you can't be spending that much :derisive:

To be honest the Brits have had a ridiculous month in September.

Lego

Boots

3 for 2

Instore clearance

Tesco Direct

With Amazon price matching most deals for you guys in the EU to take advantage of.

Tesco are apparently now stocking Amazon gift cards. 75 additional Clubcard points for each £25 spent until 16th October, so there's an additional 3% off right there.

I like the Poe's X-Wing set, and have one built on display at home. But I 'hate' that it's discounted so much now, because it reminds me again and again that I bought it wayyyy too early last April, paying wayyyy too much for it in hindsight while thinking at that time it was a decent offer! :(:(:(

Good thing I only bought 2 and built one for myself, so the loss on the other one is negligible in the grand scheme. But it still sucks and it's a lesson learned for me!

Yes and yes.

I called up when my second order was rejected and they put it through with bus and the £10 voucher applied.

not really a deal but amazon have spiderman daily bugle 76005 for RRP (£40), this set retired last year, i've been trying to sell some i got last year but it aint selling lol

The heat has gone out of Super Heroes and I've avoided the theme since last year unless I buy for gifts only. I'm not sure if it's the amount of knock-offs, the vast amounts produced or the regular remakes. This is also the reason why I now avoid Friends sets.

You just about got me to pull the trigger on some X Wings - at 53 euros a shot including postage, it´s not bad but I think I can do better nearer Xmas as I don´t like that price much for TFA stuff. Even if it retires now, the blue one is still around so prices will be blocked by that. I may regret it but I don´t think so.

I'm not seeing how they can sell it much lower than 50€ (unless the Pound takes another beating). If you account for 20% taxes and the cost of actually packaging and storing this stuff I don't think there is much left for Amazon. I don't know what their buy-in price is of course.

No idea how good/bad TFA sets will do post-retirement. As long as the Star Wars hype lasts it should be pretty decent, but I'm still worried by the sheer amount of new resellers that have this sets stockpiled. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I hear you. I expected this set to be gone by now because imo it really doesn't make any sense to have the two X-Wings for sale at the same time. But Lego just keeps pumping out all these sets.

Lots of us regularly got the 9493 or 9492 for about 30 USD/35 euros on a good day. The TFA sets have a higher RRP but I expect to pay max 45 euros for Poe´s or walk away.

Not  really our problem what margins shops want to apply, sometimes they are willling to use these sets as loss leaders. Also, we don´t know what currency Amazo buys in, maybe they are also able to cut prices in GBP for this reason.

The AT-TE is very decent and has a limit of 3.
I'm still a newbie to this but the amount of deals lately even though for us non U.K. based folks looks to be too frequent. So the question to all the regulars....is this normal?

Then there is the saying that at 40% discount for star wars it's a buy anytime of the day. I feel that with all the frequent deals, does this still has a leg to stand on? Perhaps we need to revise the discount percentage?

Avoid just released sets unless they are for persona build. Those offers will come around again next time and you will tying up money and space for nothing.

October is the best time of the year for toy sales and offers as shops undercut each other to get early sales in before Xmas and there is still plenty of choice.
