One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Yup, same discount at toysrus.de. EV is 20€ cheaper over there. Good time to load up.

EDIT: just be careful when paying at toysrus.de, because there is a bug. When adding EV the shipping cost sometimes goes up to 50€ for some reason.

Am I right in saying that when you do click and collect you have two weeks to pick it up from Asda?

Yes, you do. It's also handy when you have buyer's remorse after a drunken online purchase. I did once, didn't bother to collect and emailed Asda on the 12th day. No problem as I've ordered a lot since then. Be warned though as they are now starting to use bin liners as are Tesco.

I think the Simpsons House is a turkey too. Glad I sold my 2 for £300 cash to break even. I hate the show so much, what was I thinking?

My last Tesco click and collects were not even bagged. Fortunately the sets weren't even scuffed and the A6 stickers came off without any problems.

1 of my 15 Dr Who sets from Tesco had a tiny scuff on the box so I returned it, got refunded the same day and kept the points. I noticed that large sets are now sent naked with a sticker so I rejected the Porsche I went to pick up. I then emailed them in frustration to say "Have you been taken over by or merged with Argos?"

It seems like bin-liners and nakedness is the way forward as if we're not jumping over enough hurdles these days.

John Lewis and Boots have also joined the bin-liner brigade ;-(

It's game over for me if LEGO and Amazon start doing the same.

If you can, Try and get John Lewis shipped to store or waitrose, I did this at the weekend and it got delivered in a nice study JL branded box.

I did get it shipped to Waitrose and the 5x Dr Who sets were in a red biner liner but, luckily, no damage. Luck of the draw it seems.

My Falcons from Tesco Direct were packaged very well with all the right protection.

My last Tesco C&C (8 different orders just over £60 each to get maximum points) collection was 5 were boxed and 3 bagged. However, the bagged sets still had bubble-wrap around them which is more than I can say for other retailers.

I'm now up to 167 Dr Who sets at around 50% off RRP.

As you noted in the post above, they were gone really quickly. I managed to grab 5and feel very lucky for checking this forum so early today :) Thanks! (Now I hope my order gets delivered as well)

Thanks for mentioning it. My mail has been sent.

Same here :)

They did not sent me that offer, but just told me again it was out of stock and not about the guaranteed price. I will mail them another  time.

All of the good sets are starting to disappear from asda, still a few good sets remaining, but not for long.

Was in Smyths today and the worker was again hinting that this friday is the 20% off lego weekend, mentioned that sets will go back up to RRP and the 20% off Marvel/DC/Ninjago will also end.

Again this isnt confirmed but looks likely from all of the reports on HUKD.

£5 off on a £20 spend at Argos on lego from the HDUK bods.

I'm not going to comment on the condition of Argos stock or quality of packing materials ;-)

Argos is only good if you're building the set.

TabbyBoy, you are just plain greedy :-)

Not really, just being more wise than I was ;-)  It's a no-brainer when they work out at around half price using Tesco's clubcard promotions. My gut tells me this is the next Delorean as I can't see a BBC licence hanging on for much longer.

Dr Who is a tough one. It is very popular in UK, however outside of UK it doesnt have the same popularity or pulling power as BTTF deloren.

I think the only people who should invest in this one is UK people, as demand wont be much in US, just like superheroes doesnt do as good in UK than US.

This set is going to go one of two ways, either go 2/3 RRP once retired or say at RRP due to lots of supply and low demand.

Given the number of countries its licensed to i think Dr Who will do ok especially if you use eBay GSP

I think it will take a while to rise once it goes due to sheer number of speculators but I think this xmas could thin the herd somewhat.

Dr Who has a massive Worldwide following so I think it's worth a punt. Worst case, I should still sell at RRP a year after EOL and still clear £15 a se.

Was just in TRU, BBT in my local has a shelf label of £17.99 (64% off), only 2 on shelves so bought both and used £5 off £30 voucher to get for £15.49 each (69%).

I wasn't going to touch BBT as doesn't seem like a good pick, but at 70% off I would arm sweep.

Not sure if this is national but might be worth a shot
