July 24, 20169 yr Amazon have the resistance troop transport down to £36.33 if any one is interested Delivery with 2-5 weeks

However, I've managed to order the following for delivery via multiple separate orders to get the "proper" 3-4-2 calculation: 42x 75871 Mustang GT @ £6.66 each 36x 75872 Audi e-tron @ £6.66 each 81x 75111 Darth Vader @ £15.33 each (I think this will be the biggest winner of the builable figure range once it goes EOL) 30x 75101 Tie Fighter (This is an absolute no-brainer) @ £33.33 each A "dare not say on here" amount of 42055 Technic Bucket Wheel Loader (A huge amount of QFLL to do next week!) @ £119.99 each Fill your boots... there's still good deals but, I expect them to be gone later today. I'm now refreshing other online retailers throughout the day to get in quick, not Amazon as their order limits are too low ;-) However... Any boxes that arrive less than perfect(ish) will be rejected! How much are you going to flip 42055 for? I'll be buying mine on Mon 1st from Lego store, like a few other technic guys i know. Interested to know how much you think you'll get for them

Interested to know how much you think you'll get for them The QF for the bucket wheel will be very small, but there is an opportunity. Only QF opportunity for this set is if you do mass volume sell, as you are guaranteed to have buyers as its a highly anticipated set. I'm buying a set too but will buy from Lego store to get free promo. The set will not sell above RRP during its retail life as nothing outstanding just a great big technic set, you are looking at £20-30 per set profit if you bought via argos 3 for 2, however if you sell 10+ sets then make sense, however will be a huge pain as this a one of the biggest lego boxes ever. This set will not be in high demand like porsche as only people buying it are technic lovers, like myself

So, 120 buy in quickly becomes £145 with other costs added. How many people will want to pay over RRP early on? I wouldn't, but then i live 30-40 mins from a Lego store. I just think that Technic buyers tend to be more...practical, although the Porsche went crazy, to me that's not a "proper" technic set
July 24, 20169 yr Apparently i can't stop going on this topic... I didn't realise these were available from Argos TODAY. I assumed order 3-4-2 for August drop. Buying mine ASAP then, no need to wait for Lego store
July 24, 20169 yr I cancelled my order of the 42055 as I didn't think it through enough and it's likely to be heavily discounted in the future. What also bothered me is that the Unimog (the biggest Technic set at the time) is still not making much in the UK and this could follow. eBay is also flooded with them so the could be taking up a lot of space for a long time. I have the perfect sized boxes for the other sets I bought but, not this. BTW..... I ordered 24 of them!
July 24, 20169 yr The only reason the porsche did well as it looked awesome, the majority of people who bought them at inflated prices were not your usual technic lovers, the porsche was an exception. I QF 3 porsches and all 3 were bought by people who bought as presents for the partner / kids. The bucket wheel is also the 2016 flagship set, so it is going to be around for at least 1 year, it is definitely going to be on sale just like previous flagship sets i.e. mercedes arocs / volvo loader etc.

If you paid under £100 that's not a bad return. Not good for anyone who paid near RRP.

My pet subject is "The Unimog is Dead: Sell them now" I'm only down on 42055 because i thought long & hard about Argos 3-4-2 QF on this, but i suspected, as others have said, that it wasn't marketable in the same way as the Porsche. The market for the latter straying way beyond technic fans Anyway...back on topic

I was looking forward to today's huge delivery from Argos with a degree of nervousness due to their reputation of poor handling and packaging in the past. I've just had the first batch delivered in 4 "bin-liners" and I've just opened the first one (see photo). As you can see, every single box is smashed and covered with stickers rendering the sets worthless! I looked through holes (created by poor handling) in the other 3 bags and I couldn't see a single set without serious damage or without stickers. While typing this, just had another courier from Yodel arrive with another 4 "bin-liners" and I rejected them at the door and refused to sign. I explained to the driver that it wasn't his fault and shipping a huge order to a customer in this shocking condition is totally unacceptable. This is the worse condition I have ever seen and I'm now going to refuse the ENTIRE £5,000+ shipment out of protest! This was my very last order from Argos and I will share this will friends, family and colleagues. I even went with a friend yesterday to give her a hand collecting 3x Technic Wheel Loaders from our local branch and these were also totally plastered with stickers and badly dented in the corners. Again, these were rejected. WTF are Argos playing at?
July 25, 20169 yr Just picked up three city sets at my local store (1*60093 & 2*60129), these are two have <RRP options for upcoming birthdays/Christmas not for reselling as I know there won't be value in them. Box condition is fine, some minor stickers but that's it. Interesting point is they gave me a £5 gift card valid till the end of August, not sure why, anyone else experienced this?

The ONLY reason I got Argos to deliver was due to my local branches having low stock and my last shipment arriving in factory boxes on a pallet. There's no way that I will ever deal with those idiots ever again regardless of deals. It gets better... I was in the garden just now and another 3 red "bin-liners" were tossed over the back gate as I wasn't there to answer the front door. Of course, these were handed back to the driver with a big telling off and asked him to delete the barcode scan meaning that I refused yet another delivery. These contained Tie Fighters and I could see that 1 box had already split open and at least another was badly dented and covered with stickers. No photo as I was busy chasing the Yodel driver before he went.

The girl at the till was pretty confused with it and asked a colleague who couldn't understand it either. They then chatted away about Lego and what people buy, someone bought three MFs before Christmas for presents and then brought them back afterwards, I doubt they were 'presents'....anyone want to confess?

July 25, 20169 yr Getting a bit picky there @TabbyBoy, there's some of those sets that are at least vaguely recognisable as Lego sets, cheek of you looking to return them

July 25, 20169 yr Email sent to Argos Customer Services just now... (Order # edited and signature removed) Dear Sir/Madam, I was looking forward to my delivery today of multiple LEGO sets to add to my collection and to support local schools and charities. However, I was horrified to see the shocking condition of the first order (AD0901475xx). Upon opening one of the 12 bags, every box in the “bin-liner” was damaged and covered in unsightly stickers (see attached photo). I then picked up the first of 4 bags containing the second order (AD0901480xx) and I could see that this bag was torn and I could already feel that most of these boxes were also damaged. Other orders: AD0901481xx & AD0901485xx - Refused at the door as packed in yet more fragile bags (this time clear) and I could see some damage to the boxes. AD0901261xx & AD0901486xx - Not yet arrived but, I will also refuse these out of protest. How on Earth can an established retailer like Argos ship LEGO sets in dented boxes covered with unsightly stickers and then have the lack of common sense to ship them in a fragile plastic bag with no protection whatsoever? Why not ship them in their original factory boxes or at least place them in boxes with protective packaging? I’ve never had a problem with Amazon, Asda/George, John Lewis or Boots. Please issue full PayPal refund for all 6 large orders and arrange for immediate collection of AD0901475xx & AD0901480xx. DO NOT attempt delivery of any remaining orders as I will refuse them. Regardless of outcome, I will NEVER shop with Argos again. The quality of handling and shipping your stock is beyond shocking! Once refund is issued, please delete my account from your system along with my personal details. Thanks! Edited July 25, 20169 yr by TabbyBoy Editing pasted document
July 25, 20169 yr Tesco club card points on Lego at the moment: 500 with a £30 spend, 1000 with £60. Over £60 qualifies for both so £15 worth of points to be had. Time to get my Scooby Lighthouses.
