They actually were almost on my doorstep, I have a toy retail store close that sold them for 19.99

and I was able to gather allmost all the Ant-man sets from all those stores nationwide.

They do this for free :)

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Sorry if already posted, I have searched and can't find any mention.

Very currently have 20% off RRP of all Lego including new minecraft etc. If you open a new credit account you can also get 12 months interest free over £100 and an additional 20% off.

They also have some Lego dimensions on 3 for 2. Think it will run until tomorrow night.

£2k in a DAY!  Crikey.  Only just started lego investing over the last couple of months with a £2k overall spend limit which i'm now coming close to reaching after today.  Spent about £700 today which leaves me about £300 short of £2k spent overall at which point i'll stop and sell before i buy.  I'm in for the longer term.  have my eye on a big bonanza come Christmas 2017 or 2018 unless i can suddenly double my money before then due to demand

That's how we roll. (When there's good stuff to buy)

Full marks if you can stop buying once you've started, especially if you can hold out until either of those Xmas times! Not easy...

Not criticising your post, just fleshing it out:

Looks like the 3 for 2 on Dimensions is mostly fun packs, and they don't have the overall -20% applied, as a lot of the rest of their Lego does at the moment.

I was thinking if these stack the across the board -20%, the new acct -20%, and a 3-4-2, then i might almost be interested in Dimensions all of a sudden

Still not convinced these are worth my time & money, even with -20% and 3-4-2 stacked

YMMV

Despite the raft of offers that have appeared recently, i'm finding them all a bit "meh"

I think i have enough sets that i bought at prices which for those sets are mostly better for me than what's currently available. Not the same sets that are currently being discounted. Mostly stuff i can sell for under £50 in the future, but bough for around half that, and ship as UK small parcels, so it suits my shipping strategy, as well as my purchase strategy

Which is an odd thing for an addict like me to say!

Drifting off topic...

Saw on John Lewis website that they are stocking the ghostbusters headquarters, so no longer just exclusive to SAH, hopefully some other stores will stock and we may see some marginal discount...

Think the best discounts through John Lewis would be if you can get gift cards through a corporate perks website like xexec. I can obtain gift cards with 9% discount which would mean GBHQ for £247.50, think the other stores who may stock are Smyths and TRU

Yeah I agree, JL hardly offer any discount, but I'm hoping it lands in Smyths or TRU where discounts are a bit more common. If a few stores stock the set only then may we see a few competitive price wars if we are very lucky...

Managed to grab the last Tower Bridge for £167.99 with the £20 worth of gift cards @ Teesside park TRU.

They still have a SOH for £207.99 and a Hellicarrier for £239.99 but these are both ones where the contents have been removed, so the seals will be broken.

Sainsburys are selling the chicken men off for £1 each. Saw it on UKHD an hour ago and just went to my 2 local stores. Only managed to get one. Someone must have beat me to it or they all sold before today. Good luck if you go searching! :)

Fair play to you mate! I did well on the Tesco minifigs and mixels blowout sales a few months back so I can take missing out on these :)

My store took down their promotional display so I think the chicken men are in a cage waiting to go on to shop floor. Up to Friday I think I'm the only person who's been buying them. So hopefully I'll have an eggstravaganza when they get put out later in the week.

Good point, the display completely went from my larger local one too. I'll try again later in the week and if they bring out a roll-cage of them from the back, hopefully they'll open it up and there will be an egg-alanche into my basket :)

Picked up 10 Chicken Suit Minifigures from Sainsburys High Wycombe this morning, about 30 left.

Everyone saying there's still loads left but all the stores I go to there's none left...

There were on the end of a till, not in toy section/Lego section.

Yep, checked everywhere in the stores I went to and asked customer services too. No luck.

In one store I went to someone had bought 76... That might explain why I can't find any :jester:

Are these really going to rise a lot in value with so many going to flood the market?

If you're talking about the chicken figures (not sure 'cause you quoted two different things) then yes they will rise to a worthwhile value. Since the buy in is £1 and P&P will be low due to its size, then there's a lot of money to be made with these in my opinion.

Yes I was talking about the Chicken Suit Minifigs. I can only head out to my local stores later this afternoon. Probably all gone by the time I get there.

Yeah likely they will, but still worth a try. What area are you trying 'cause I may have visited them already?

The chicken men have come home to roost. Headed out to a couple more stores this afternoon (after not finding any yesterday) and grabbed 15 from one and 7 from another. Already had around 8 so up to 30 in total. Should make a tidy bit of profit given time (probably not to the levels they were up to before but if I make at least a few quid on each at some point then that's better than nothing). The checkouts have an automatic limit of 5 on them so had to do separate transactions straight after each other (checkout workers didn't mind in these stores).

In the store I got 15 from they were out the back in the store room (I asked the guy filling the Lego aisle). They didn't realise anyone even wanted them.
