I'm with Natwest and happens a lot when I use my personal account and go over the 2k mark in a single day, which I just did buying General Grievous/Darth Vaders/Mystery machines and Elsa's castle. Shame I missed out on the Wall E's and Echto ones, but you can't always win.

Wow I feel much better about my £800 spend in last 2 days now.

Is that for quick flipping or have you got to store all those?

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

£2k in a DAY!  Crikey.  Only just started lego investing over the last couple of months with a £2k overall spend limit which i'm now coming close to reaching after today.  Spent about £700 today which leaves me about £300 short of £2k spent overall at which point i'll stop and sell before i buy.  I'm in for the longer term.  have my eye on a big bonanza come Christmas 2017 or 2018 unless i can suddenly double my money before then due to demand

Lots of good reductions on Amazon UK:

  • Rey's Speeder £10.60
  • TIE Advanced Prototype £26.25
  • Resistance Troop Transport £43.77
  • Utility Shuttle £9.85

Plus lots more

Indeed, I got several notifications from Brickwatch about good reductions at Amazon UK on sets I have in my Brickwatch.

Too bad I'm currently maxed out on my purchasing budget. :(

I'm always long term, minimum 12-24 months, I mainly buy large exclusives, but every year i pick several small sets to focus on and get around 50 of each, and I just love the potential of the Grievous and Darth Vader sets.

Prime example was General Grievous wheel bikes 75040, I picked up around 60 of them over the last 12 months for around £13 each and I'm now currently selling them on Amazon for £49.99. Gotta love Amazon price difference over eBay ( I hate eBay now btw, 5 years ago great, now just a sinking ship. )

Lego Palace Cinema 94.99 in store at TRU

Plus don't forget the 2 £10 vouchers for spending over 40.

So PC's for effectively £75

Yep I just went through flubit and got 3 more Sydney Opera Houses for £192.99 each and 3 more Palace cinemas for £86 each. As stated with the inclusion of double VIP on Lego.com, this has really been a crazy month for discounts.

£86 for Palace Cinemas! Wish I'd thought about using flubit.

No, you won't, and I just can't stop buying today, bought 6 Jokerlands for £48 each, and 9 Flatiron buildings for £18 each. Dam you Flubit!

I imagine these offers have happened because companies are desperate to up their sales before financial year end.

Which probably means bad news for tesco or tru shareholders.

How did you get the Sydney Opera House for that price with Flubit?

It goes off how much you've spent over the last 12 months on flubit etc, and offers you better deals. Plus its time sensitive.

Oh there on Toys R us for £208, or were around 8 hours ago.

After a day of flashing the cash, I've woken up to a raft of cancelled orders:

TRU - No SOH
TRU - No TB
Flubit (The Entertainer) - No SOH

Not happy. Not to concerned over SOH as I think that will run for maybe another year, but I it could well be that TB will go EOL this summer, especially as there looks to be a Big Ben (10253?) coming out this year.

I was concerned that would happen so I did click and collect and picked them up yesterday evening. Also advantage is that you don't run the gauntlet of getting a poorly packaged item that you will inevitably have to return. So picked myself up a couple of minty boxes of each. I would think SOH will go first since I can see them wanting to have both TB and BB side by side , TB has had a recent box refresh and SOH is not a good seller. My SOH were both early 05 seals

Went into the store today to pick up my click and collects.  They had some SOH's left but the boxes were in bad shape with holes in the front.  It's no wonder they don't shift.

I think I'm now up to £300 in free gift cards to spend in tru next month plus another £80 or so online.

The bonus was finding 4 ant man final battles sat on the shelves so I picked those up.   They also had the hydra fortress set that I thought had disappeared ages ago but wasn't sure if there was any value in picking it up.

I hear you about the state of the boxes in TRU. Whenever I collect a big set on reduction they always seem to pick the one that has been used for a 5 a side game! Luckily I've managed to swap for a mint one that is on the shelf. Don't blame them though trying to shift the badly damaged one knowing the discount. There were a few antmans in my local as well. Although retired I don't see the real appeal of this and dont see this going up in value that much and based on current prices fetched on eBay you're not even going to break even given that they're on sale for MRRP. Or am I missing something?

Well it was a short run and the only set featuring ant man. With doubling up and getting the 2 free gift cards they work out at 10 per set. I'm parting out some of them along with the new airport battle  sets to sell micro, minI and giant ant man sets for collectors.  I'll keep 2 ant man sets complete to see if they go up in price.  If not I'll just part them out.

I skooped the entire area for the Antman sets, Bought them at 19.99 and sold about 6 of them already for 32.50.

I've parted out 4 sets already and sold the figs for 27 euro in total which leaves me with quite a lot of parts.

There's quite some potential in the Antman set :)

Yea, but hard to find them ... spotted 1 @fnac Liège ... at around 30€. Not worth the hassle at that price...

Yeah, unless they are on your doorstep it seems like a lot of work to make 10 euros a time. Much easier to go into a Smyths, buy a Tumbler and stick it on Ebay the same day. Oh wait....

As I say the minifigs are a new area for me but the 3 for 2 deal at tesco gave me an opportunity to try that I couldn't resist. Brand new sets, lots of unique minifigs and 33% off, figs are easy to pack and send and if all I'm sending is the minifigs then I don't have to be involved in the "there were no minifigs in the misb set you sent me" scam.
