Gutted I missed the Ecto-1. Bought some Wall-E and Architecture sets. Is Indominus Rex a good investment?

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Anyone tried PM Amazon?

Don't think Amazon price match on request anymore. But I think they price matched Argos' 3 for 2 offer last time they ran it.

me too.  always seem to get to these deals after the ecto-1 has gone.  first asda and now tesco.  very frustrating!

gone for three each of shuttle tydiriums, general grievous, rey speeders and tie fighters.  all already reduced prices and to have them in the three for two as well is just great.  also picked up three wall-es and three mystery machines which were full price but at three for two its as good a time to get them as any

will probably go for jurassic world as well but don't want to put too many orders in at once in case i end up with some kind of credit card flag!

I doubt Tesco really care about resellers. They've enough problems to contend with than trying to weed out resellers. Anyway easy enough to set up a separate account and use another card if you're very concerned

Edited - Thought better of sharing what I wrote as I work for said company. Don't want to get pulled up by them :)

HAHA !! Either way, there is still a far view sets on there that seem like a good deal !! Wall-e and the Tydirium Shuttles were quick to disappear but other than that, stock still seems pretty consistent for everything else  . . .

I think he meant his card company stopping his card working because of so many transactions.

Given my 10 consecutive £40 transactions at tru and another 6 at tesco today they don't seem to be too bothered about multiple transactions at one retailer.

I'm with Natwest and happens a lot when I use my personal account and go over the 2k mark in a single day, which I just did buying General Grievous/Darth Vaders/Mystery machines and Elsa's castle. Shame I missed out on the Wall E's and Echto ones, but you can't always win.

Apparently some of the early people were getting the 2 for 15 or 2 for 30 deals as well as 3 for 2 for a real bonus.

I knew I should've been late for work and picked up ectos and tydirium's but I've already got some so just being greedy.

Not picked up any of the TFA Lego deals as they should still be around later in the year when other 3 for 2 deals hit. I was tempted by the £80 mf's but I'd only be storing them for ages.

My thoughts exactly regards the MF, very tempting at £80 each, but they'll just take up space at the moment, and at some point I imagine other retailers will either match the 3 for 2 deal and knock them out at £80 each so you only have to pick up 1 as opposed to storing 3 so early on, or just wait for a few months for the deal to come round again !

Lego city spaceport 60080 seems to be very cheap at £52.49 even better 3 for 2!

I was tempted but even at buy in of £35 I'm still not sure they're ever going to resell at a worthwhile profit.

Same as the Friends Grand Hotel £30 under RRP to start with and 3 for 2 but still a risk.

I think this set will do well when it retires. You might be kicking yourself for not getting it a that price.

If selling through ebay I'd want to be selling them for £59 + p&p to get a reasonable profit (£17.50).  I just think it could be a fair while past retirement before they hit that given that they've been sat on shop shelves for £52 since Xmas and they're still around.

I was in a toy shop in cirencester earlier in the year and they had loads of the spaceports they couldn't shift so i'm avoiding them.  plus as a set its too easy to reissue.  bit like that scuderia ferrari truck

I'm not going for Millenium Falcons as I can't see them being out of stock again for a while as the new films are coming out too frequently.  By christmas 2017 the new film will be out and i would have thought a MF to go with it.  I can see the set being in a 3 for 2 every christmas for quite a few years to come

Umm-ed and Arr-ed long enough for the indominus rex sets to sell out.  was in two minds about getting three (financial outlay and storage!) but wish i'd gone for it now.  I didn't realise how few retailers have them.  Argos don't stock them so they won't be in their 3-for-2.  hope that wasn't the first and last chance to pick them up at such a bargain price!

Bit of a head-wrecker, having missed the Ectos. Kept going round in circles.

Perhaps against my better judgment, went with TFA Tie Fighters and near-RRP Doctor Who sets.

Was tempted to really load up on Rey's Speeders, but that's going to be an easy enough find at around a tenner before too long.

My feeling is that if JW does turn out to be a post retirement hit, it will be the mid range sets that perform better, IR seems to be another favourite of the hoarders.

No, you could get 10 for £15 ( in one order). If you added 10 which was the maximum allowed, you paid £17 in total because of the £2 delivery charge.

ECTO 1 you could buy 9 in one purchase of which 3 were free. but they lasted about half an hour.

oh good!  have a selection of the smaller sets.  will still hope to pick up 2 or 3 IR sets before they go but if i've missed them so be it.  I spent enough!

i think the TFA tie fighters are as good a deal as they are ever going to be.  rrp £60 with tesco already selling them at £48 which makes them £32 each.  should be easy enough to make a profit on but i wouldn't have paid more admittedly

My current dilemma is actually the brand new Marvel Superheroes sets at 33% off and then parting the sets out. Mainly looking at airport battle and avenjet mission but having never parted out sets before do I dare pull the trigger.

I also spotted some of the older ant man sets at RRP so tempted to buy those and part too and sell micro, minI and giant ant man figures as a set.

I´d say 3 for the price of 1 is minimum buy-in for Super Heroes these days.

Can I sell you 3 Arkham Asylums, know how much you love them?
