Several reasons...

- I'm not a 100% brickinvestor who's only in it for the money but also a Lego fan and collector, and I like to connect with Lego fans/collector's as well;

- I'm not selfish but like to share a good deal with others who could also benefit from it;

- This particular deal for the Slave-1 is a maximum buy 1 per account. If you want to get multiples this way you have to work with multiple accounts and maybe even multiple delivery addresses. Only hoarders will go that far while regular collectors are already happy to buy just one for their own collection. I posted the deal here first to give brickinvestors the chance to fill their stock first.  

- TRU has a certain stock for this offer, just like Ewok Village which is already unavailable now at TRU. When their stock of Slave-1 is depleted, I don't think this will have made a big dent at all in the future demand for this truly amazing UCS set. Tipping a few Lego collector's at the Tweakers forum won't make any difference for the future demand of the Slave-1.

- "keeping them in the dark..." Sorry, but the "security through obscurity" principle is a very weak way to go and doomed to fail. Future resale value of the Slave-1 post-EOL shouldn't depend on whether some collectors managed to buy it below RRP as well just like you. The UCS Slave-1 is strong enough to stand on its own.

I was getting jealous of the boot (trunk) contents until I saw those Simpsons Houses! Hopefully they can be returned. I missed the "window" and sold mine at a loss to get rid - live and learn ;-)

 

Hopefully this post gets approved quick - but Beales in worthing (not sure if nationwide or how many stores they have) have 10% off all lego today. Probably most notable sets in stock are UCS Tie fighter and Sydney opera house but also had lots of other themes large and small sets.

For those into small CITY sets, the 60073 (truck with turdis) is £9.99 at Amazon & Tesco.

Yeah had a quick look on the ebay recent sold listings and some brand new sets have sold for less than RRP (£83, £96, £90) it would seem another batch has crawled out of the woodwork from somewhere . . . .

Last confirmed EU seals were werk 16 2015 so almost a year since then. Doubt more have been made, they may well be returns or a purchase from another shop that couldn´t sell them Still have a bad feeling about this set that it will be the first Architecture turkey.

I´d hope it was for personal enjoyment or at least combining with TRU vouchers but I have a feeling I am wrong. We´ll see if Ebay is full of them for 10 euros below RRP next week!

BTW Amazon.de have started price matching a lot of sets at 20% off or more.

You´re welcome. They also have Tydrium at a sensible price (72 euros) but still over my buy-in target in current market conditions.
