I'll second the boxes from ASC. nothing like a custom slip over twin wall box that gives quad wall on the sides. Feedback from buyers has always impressed.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Wow that must cost you fair bit for those. I'm getting a price of 84 pound in total for 50 boxes so £1.68 a box delivered for the single walled custom size. I don't think that's too bad but just hope there quite strong.

Not sure whether or not to go for double walled ones or not. Confusing

My bad. The base and lid boxes I get from qickbox.co being for the large UCS sized sets.
The ASC ones are for the medium (Osprey sized) boxes. Type 0409 and yes I'm happy to pay around £2 a box to make sure a high value set gets to the buyer undamaged. Top tip... Fold the short side flaps on the outside of the box so that the set had four flush sides against it and then the flaps act as additional corner protection.

Brilliant info. Thank you for your help. Do you opt for the double walled ones for the 0409s?

Are these sort of boxes suited better than the standard boxes 0201?

Double wall all the time. Always. Standard boxes double up on the large flats of a set, but I feel its better to have the strength in the sides and corners.

Slave 1 available on Amazon Fresh at RRP for delivery later today. Very odd but I’ll take it thank you very much.

42115 Technic Lamborghini Sian is £199.99 on Amazon / Costco (think it can be cheaper with a Costco voucher of some sort but I'm not a member). This won't last long.

Quite disappointing on the Lego sale front.

A few decent offers on at Argos, though.

Yes, Lego seem to think having something out of stock before the sale even starts is perfect practice. Aldi did have 75257 Millennium Falcons for £59.99, but there was an absurd queue and they sold out straight away.

I bagged the Lambo for £189.99 using their voucher at Costco. That discount offset the annual fee, only £5 to pay.

That’s sacrilege, if the sticker starts to peel off surface use a hair dryer on warm to heat the glue. Should come off with no damage.

Even with hair dryer it left a lot of residue... used white spirit to remove that. That was a fun evening (I had 10 to do)

Beetle and Diner in stock at John Lewis at RRP. Topping up (again).

10220 VW T1 Camper is on iwoot for £70. If it were marked as Retiring Soon on LEGO i would be filling my boots but i am still scared it won't go.

Lego does not always mark sets retiring soon when they actually are. Think I was caught out a few years ago by that.

A particularly good example is the 10242 MINI Cooper. That wasn't marked - it just went.
