Maybe but who are you shipping it to?, USA, Asia and a lot of Europe have already had it.

Those that pay the most ?

I was thinking Australia as a I have “friends in high places” who can take care of shipping and customs for me. TBH... I don’t think Hamleys will ship as it seems like they shouldn’t have been on sale in the first place.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Did you manage to get them to add to the basket FoC as they were advertised?

They were meant to be 1 x free with each order over £50, but there did not seem anyway to get it to register that way, i guess a case of chasing hamleys for refunds once the order has processed..

13 of 15 orders now cancelled, but card not charged. I’ll probably only get the one free with the IDEAS book order that I placed after. Let’s see.

If only 6000 were available (which isn’t a lot), there’s still scope for profit on these after the £30 QFLLs are done.

I only placed two "small" orders, both still showing as stock allocated, so fingers crossed.

Mine also showed “Stock Allocated” before being cancelled. I still have 100 sets pending though.

You must have been shoping for the entire 6,000 if you still have 100 showing as stock allocated, yet 13 of 15 orders cancelled.

Just to say the above was written in a mix of jest and admiration at the scale of your order, although it doesn't read that way,

Good luck on getting the 100

I went for 40x per order, but stopped when they disappeared from website. I may only end up with 1.

UPDATE... All Hamleys orders cancelled including the IDEAS book with freebie that never seemed to exist in the first place. That small order was from a different account using totally new credentials. I just called them, I'm not banned, they simple don't have stock available. I was told that they have some for a future promotion, but didn't give me further details. Tumbling prices on eBay now so dodged a bullet ?

Just got an email from Hamleys advising that i would be refunded the cost of one of the minifigure sets (£20) as i paid for 10 and there was a freebie for orders over £50!

Have had confirmation mine are shipping (only 2 orders of 10 mind)

You probably had the only 20 that existed ?

I've been offered a £20 voucher which I accepted, better than a kick up the arse I suppose ?

I'm small potatoes compared to your orders, but I've had 1 x dispatched confirmation (4 sets in total), along with confirmation of the £20 refund as over £50 and only a confirmation of refund email on the second order, so who knows with that one..

Yes me too -  had despatch confirmation via ParcelForce, and the £20 refund for one set (per order of 10). One email confirming despatch of 1 x item, not sure about the second order though!

Odd email from Hamleys just now...

I didn't have anything to return!

I didn't receive anything that could have been replaced!

I've already got the £20 online voucher code so why are more supposedly being sent?

My credit card has still not been charged and if they credit me with the rather large sum in question it's their error and not mine!

I got an email from Parcelfarce yesterday saying that 4 different deliveries are due today, let's see.

Could this be a repeat similar to "the most inept catalogue retailer of all" where I got a pallet load of sets and got a full refund too? Being a "professional plaintiff" like I am, I'm very good at complaining to the top and it's often worked out well. Let's see what happens in this case. I'm so glad that i didn't use PayPal otherwise my payment would've gone out immediately and it would've taken months to resolve.

EDIT... Sorry, can mods please move this to "My Order Status" as I can't access that thread for some reason today - thanks!

UPDATE... Still no charge on my CC, but had a note from Parcelforce saying delivery of 4 boxes attempted 20min ago at my industrial unit as we're not open today. I'll pick up whatever it is on Monday with the card as no tracking number given. Could it be Hamleys or could it be the 200 sachets of catfood I ordered? I hope it's the catfood as my Tabby only has enough left for a few days!

Not a word from Hamleys though.

LOL... £8 (10%) discount in the UK, but still not good enough.

So who's been filling their trolley's at Sainsbury's??

My local only has 4 mods of toys so not even worth looking, does seem to be more national that the usual Sainsburys goose chases though.

I have two locally, managed to get 4 of each of the smaller JW sets and the star wars sets like ach too and Yoda's hut. Got 28 sets yesterday all at 50% off.

Amazon were price matching Tesco yesterday so may price match Sainsbury's today.

I've been picking up a few RRP £24.99 CITY vehicles at 50% off. Mainly from Dobbies and Reading Warehouses. I don't think history will repeat itself with JW and Star Wars is a big N0-NO even at 60% off.

Agree on Star Wars but these one's are reasonably unique, just got to look out for remakes.

Also agree on JW, these will just be run of the mill sets in a year or so and maybe go a little over RRP if I hold out. I wasn't prepared to leave them though at those prices.

Going off Ebay prices some of the sets, such as General Grievous, can be flipped for a profit already so it looks safe enough to me.

I suppose it boils down to the impact that resellers selling off cheap has on the price and whether or not the profit is worth the time investment.
