One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

It's just a misprint...

Since it's out of stock, I just hope that the customers respond to this misleading and deliberate "error" and return everything. At least Tesco sometimes make mistakes in our favour and will honour it more often than not.BTW... I was joking about the John Lewis price match ?

Yeah, I realised it was an error but it's been done on purpose and I have seen Very do this a few times now. Also, on another note... Never buy from these clowns. Only joined for a credit account as it was £30 off your first £60 spend. So I got 6 monster trucks when they had them at £11.99. They just ship Lego in bags with a tiny bit of bubble wrap. One of the sets had been opened and was taped up. But I decided to build that with my son. The others were OK. They then sent me an email to ask for a review. I wrote a very polite review saying that they need to take care when sending lego and suggested that they should send boxed... I then received an email to say that my review was inappropriate. Never again.. Jokers

I ordered the technic red Crane when it was lowest discounted price with the credit offer so ended up getting it for 110. Lego came in outer box so nothing to complain about. Although i had to send order back because it had a puncture (likely caused during transit). Got redelivered and all okay.

It's possible that they opt for bubble wrap and bags for cheaper sets?

I picked up some Hermione Granger Brickheadz for a fiver each from Tesco. I'm not convinced the set is going to do that well as there's been loads left on the shelves since Christmas but it's going for ~15 on Ebay so there's some profit in it.

What's the best plan for packaging these? Not really sure a jiffy bag and additional bubble wrap is enough...

I never use bubble wrap when posting lego.  Always box unless its a blind bag minifigure.

Tesco had more lego on 50% off yesterday as well as other toys at 75%.   Seen HG at every tesco i was at.

Don't jiffy bag, I just received one off ebay and was buublewrapped & outer envelope and box destroyed, always a box.

I agree, I don't even have any padded envelopes, only new boxes.

My local Sainsburys has just re-stocked on several clearance sets, including:

76099 Black Panther Rhino Face Off @ £10 (50% off)
70606 Ninjago Movie Spinjitzu Training @ £4.50 (50% off)
7885 Ford Fiesta @ 2 for £15 (42% off)
75926 Pteranodon Chase @ £14.40 (30% off)

Plus quite a few of the small Friends ones @ 50% off, so it might be worth a look - I assume prices are National.

Does anyone know if Jurassic World will be retired soon?  There doesn't seem to be much stock around, in local stores.

This was the same price in Tesco.

I use Trustpilot for reviews and the vendor cannot remove them. I really slated TRU and JD Williams on there... and so have many others.

I agree, I will get round to that. For the time being they won't ever have my custom. Any deal they have is quickly picked up by amazon and John Lewis anyway. Besides you can't beat a supermarket sweep these days!

75188 is available as a Backorder from Shop at Home for £69.99 (30% off) - with an expected shipping date of 11th April.

I've just ordered one in the faint hope that it will include the new Finch Dallow minifigure - it might be worth a punt!

Could be retailer returns, but I hope you get lucky. I see that Finch Dallow sells for a fraction in the US of what it does in the UK.

Why not order 20x (the limit) and return/keep as appropriate? I did it with the 10242 Mini as I wanted the ones with the new rear screen. I sent 7 back without a problem. However, that was before the current Ban Hammer threats!

Does the thrill ever wear off?!

I was out of this game for a couple of years while doing some other things.

Right back into buying in 2019.

Does the satisfaction of knowing you've just worked the system well ever go away, realising you have just paid such a low price for something you know will be worth lots more soon? (Or in today's case, is already worth nearly double what you just paid)

Yes, it did for me in 2017. It's a lot tougher these days and bargains are rare unless you like chasing wild geese. I now concentrate on smaller margins in bulk without packing or fees.

I've concluded my time is worth more than the profits these days. I almost groan when the eBay cash register notification sounds.

Appears to be a dead link, what was this for? Thanks.

EDIT... It's OK, I found them. I noticed that "Great new price" is Argoslish for "You can buy a better unstickered box cheaper elsewhere" ?
