Currently out of stock, but Amazon are advertising 4867 Hogwarts for £49.99!!!

I don't know if they've just found a pallet of them (after 6 years) but I've just ordered one out of curiosity.... it might be worth a punt!

Good spot, we'll see what happens. I've only ordered one as well. Experience has taught me that orders of multiples in these situations are far more likely to fail and be cancelled.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Too good to be true I’m afraid, it’s a trap. Be careful not to reserve as I fell for it about 5 years ago and was billed 3x RRP when it was returned to stock... at a VERY inflated price! Of course, it was returned immediately! Best to ignore “offers” like this. If it’s not in stock you can bet your arse that the price will rise 5x when it is.

Not as cheap as the smyths 20%, but UCS falcon £584.99 (10% off) at John Lewis

Are there any opinions on how low this set is likely to go?

I would like to pick it up at some point for a personal build but I'm not in any hurry so am happy to wait for a good discount.

Smyths will most likely have it on sale again in the annual 20% off sale (instore only usually in September). However it seems like this set is now taking up valuable shelf space in stores, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get 30% off at some point later in the year.

Its unlikely to go any cheaper, although Lego must surely start to reduce the big sets, maybe not directly but adding some free gifts with purchases, as sets like the technic Porsche/ Bugatti are available permanently 30/40% in other shops.

What did you buy?!

best Elves choices were (in my opinion):
20x 41187 (limit 20)
5x 41193 (limit 5)
also I bought other (excl. 41188)

I really wanted to take A LOT of 60154 City (sold out) :/ 2-2.5x RPP guaranteed.. :/

Looks like these have been cleaned out already.

Bizarre considering they were all much cheaper on any Amazon last month.

60154 was as low as £20 a month ago on Amazon, what makes you think this particular set rather than other City sets being retired will make that sort of returns?

The Joker Manor for £174.95 looks ok.

60154 is the sort of City set that is quirky and not frequently remade. I´d want half price, same as with Joker Manor. The latter may even make it to 50% off in a month´s time as it is proven that no one apart from resellers buy large SH sets in Europe.

sold about 50+ 60154 per 42-45 £ last two weeks - due to that, I want -more-
also I believe in Elves.. due to great deals of Water Dragon and Fire Dragon sets retired 12'2017

60154 was easy to get in uk at £20/50% off, argos and amazon. No way it will end up at £80-£90 imo

My bet is 55-60 £ next year (yes, it's not 2-2.5 rpp my mistake sorry)

All the big retiring soon sets on lego UK gone now.

Speed Champions Porsche 919 (75887) was £10.40 in my local Sainsbury's. The LEGO site says it's retiring soon and it seems to be going for around £18 on Ebay so may be worth a look (tell me if it isn't!). Looks like it was £9 on LEGO's site and was two for £15 at Argos so better deals were available.

Exactly. You´ll be a long way down the reseller queue with that buy-in.

What do we think a realistic return will be on retiring speed champion's, x2 or x3 on the original RRP next year?

For those that got these at Argos 2 for £15, well done!

Everyone got these at this price, hence price will be depressed. Once race to bottom starts, I think this will be barley above RRP

I agree, this is not likely to be one of the better performing in the wave..

In other news, I’m surprised that the green Mech dragon 70612 is still in stock at amazon for that price, when they were 40% off before they were wiped out straight away. I’m still holding out for 50% - especially now.
