UK only.... I have another O2 Priority code if somebody wants a free 40253 24-in-1 promo set with their next >£20 order. The first to PM gets the code ?

Update... Gone! It took over an hour last time.

You can also scour HUKD as some people put up unused codes all the time. This enabled me to get about 4 extra Snow Globes last year. Nice to get freebies from HUKD since they banned me ?

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Looks like Tesco have already started making some toys half price, but as suspected only Tat so far.

I'll be stopping by a few big branches on my way home from work this week. I'm after 2019 CITY sets to flip for 2x before they're officially released. Tesco often release sets instore before they are supposed to.

Asda/George have some great deals on right now with their "Spend & Save" to get 20% off a >£100 order stacked with free Bricks On A Roll with a >£80 order. I've been filling my boots on already discounted items along with QCB. I've been collecting this morning so my first orders have gone through. I won't list what I've ordered, but the amount is obscene ? I've also got a buyer lined up for half of it!

Asda still have the CITY 3-in-1 super packs comprising of: 31072, 60172 & 60180 (total RRP £50). If you buy 4 of these, the price comes to £20 each and you get a free 10715 BoaR. I've just sold some of the 60172 sets for £17 each which means that 4x 31072, 4x 60180 and 1x 10715 cost me the grand sum of...... £12.00 in total. There's still some stock left if you're interested. Don't dilly-dally as I may dive in again this evening.

Yeah it's gonna be the same garbage as the one before because they vastly oversupplied everything and didn't actually sell much because even at supposedly half price it was mostly junk.

There are whisperings of a 3 for 2 coming in 2 weeks but without direct who cares really.

They have advent calendars on stacks with a reduced to clear sign, the reduction? 10% off, like seriously are you even trying anymore.

PF rechargeable on sale, flip them on BL, keep the promos and the cashback? Meh.

I miss the LEGO sales of yesteryear when decent sets were 50% and you could order 10, or even 20. Only cack is 50% off.

Ewok village?

No, 21128 - Minecraft -  The Village.

They were on sale at 30% off on LEGO Shop at Home post Christmas 2017. Combined with cashback offers they cost £120.95 (not accounting for VIP points), yet they are now selling for £250.

Ah, I see. Minecraft is the one range I know F all about!

Asda George added more reductions overnight, and on top of that their spend & save deal comes in at the checkout stage for double discount.

People snapped up all of the technic porches straight away at just over £130, I passed.

George has really bashed my credit card this week. I've mostly bought sets that are under the radar (I hope), rather than be stuck with Technic Porsches for years until they reach 0.5x RRP. Mack Anthems will be tough to shift too, especially with no Power Functions. As for Star Wars, no comment as I don't want to swear!

I assume you think they Porches and other big sets will be overbought resulting in the selling price staying low for a long time after the set is discontinued?

Exactly. The Porsche has been available everywhere for quite a while and heavily discounted since release. With retailers appearing to have billions still in stock, I think supply will far outstrip demand... for a long time. Those that bought at RRP in the early days won't make a profit. Not only will the reselling price be low, a lot will remain unsold. I'm holding out to buy my first one for £100 and don't think that I'll be waiting much longer. However, the new Porsche is far better value and could be a winner.

If you can´t turn a profit on a 130GBP 42056 then it´s probably time to give up investing. The new one will definitely not help values but there will still be a market for the older one sub RRP.

I’m 100% I could make a profit on a £130 42056. Sold prices on eBay make this quite obvious.

But it was an easy pass for me, as it will be a relatively small profit after fees etc compared to the size of the thing. I’d be making as much per unit as I did on pirate coasters, which are much easier to ship, take up far less space, and buyers have been less precious about in terms of box condition etc.

I agree with Tabby, 42056 has been coming down and down.. and down.. in price and in the new year when people have cottoned onto the new Porsche coming out I reckon there will be £100-£110 deals on it to be had.

Then, I’ll be buying.

You'll have to sell for £170 to break even on a £130 buy-in. Selling fees, box, bubble-wrap and shipping really eat into profit. There's snowball's chance in Hell of selling for £200 any time soon and this will only generate £18 profit after income tax. Hardly worth it and also a high risk of returns and scams. £300 would be my target, but that won't happen with 42056 as somebody somewhere will always be able to sell for much less. A great looking set, but a big investment turkey IMHO.
