October 12, 20187 yr Tesco update... It helps to complain to the top, but be nice about it. I had a call this afternoon from one of the bigwig PAs to apologise and to offer me some more Clubcard points (more than I expected!) which I accepted. The problem was not the amount of sets I ordered, but that they need to be picked from store shelves (box condition alarm bells) rather than a warehouse. However, I can speak to CS at a larger store and they should be able to honour future orders by getting stock from a distribution centre as long as I pay on the spot and then go back to collect a few days later. It appears that they don't have buying limits after all. I was also told that I can now have those Sunshine Surfers, but I politely declined as buyer Back to being a nice friendly tabby again...
October 14, 20187 yr A few more sets are -50% at Tesco. But orders are only likely to go through if there's stock local to you. If not, go to an Extra branch and CS should be able to order large amounts from their distribution centre for collection only. Hmmm... 99x Mythical Creatures at £6.50 each?
October 19, 20187 yr Lego 21310 old fishing store 21313 ship in a bottle Taj Mahal 10256 less 25% at John Lewis. Edited October 19, 20187 yr by grabbitfast

It's a shame that the HUKD brigade get there first sometimes. I'm wondering if the SiaB could be worth a punt. The OFS is likely to be heavily hoarded and QFLLs will now sell even lower. Also the TM is a lazy remake. However, with the latest Tesco reductions, there could be a big LEGO price war on the way during the run up to celebrate Satan Santa.

I got a £1 max selling fees offer from eBay for the weekend, I'm sure many others did as well so you can expect to see a flood of lower priced Lego on for the next 30 days

It's actually more than 25% off RRP, more like 1/3 off. I guess their normal price is already a bit lower.

I had no choice as I was selling so much on my private account that eBay threatened to close it down, along with over 20,000 feedback at 100%. It only takes a jealous competitor to grass you up. However, I’m now VAT registered so FVF is down from 10.8% to 9%. I still sell mostly elsewhere.

Yes Ebay is becoming more and more grief for less and less return, so is my last ditch stop nowadays as well.
October 22, 20187 yr In case anybody hasn't seen HUKD, 70657 Ninjago City Docks is £137.99 on Amazon (and Smyths).

Do you know if Smyths still attach that dreadful yellow price sticker as they do instore if the set is bought online? This alone has stopped my buying anything from Smyths unless I'm building it. Thanks.

I've never bought anything from Smyths so I have no idea.

There's no point buying off Amazon as their limit is often only 2. If I'm buying to sell, I go in big ? I've been into Smyths countless times, but have never bought a thing. I may ask about the price stickers when I go in there next. It's a shame as it WILL stop me buying.

Could you not use a hair dryer or something to get them off?

Back when I bought Tumblers (click and collect January 2016) they had picked them from the warehouse, so before any yellow stickers were attached. My guess (and it's only a guess), they price them when they go on shelf, so long as they've stock in the store they'll not be priced

How many do you want at this stage with such a low (31%) discount?

When I sell to certain toy shops and emporiums, the boxes have to be beyond mint and I've even got larger sets officially graded. I just can't understand why boxes are so much more important than the contents. I've never had such a problem with other toys and collectables.

October 22, 20187 yr City is a D2C so there is less scope for discounts as they are not stocked by supermakets, but some people did get it for around 30% off. Docks is a playset like Destiny´s Bounty and it should be possible to get 40-50% off after Xmas when stores like Asda and Argos clear them out. For me 31% off is not good enough at this early stage but YMMV.

Nevertheless, I'm happy paying £137.99 for a 3553 piece set for personal building.

The problem was never taking off the sticker, those yellow stickers come off easily enough with a bit of care. The problem was there were always tears underneath where lazy staff changing prices had ripped off the initial sticker. They seem to be a lot better with stickers though, didn't notice the usual big stickers last time I was in a Smyths.

Dont know about that the Funko Pop brigade are pretty Anal as well , more to do with getting it cheaper in some cases too as we all know.

From what i've seen they put the stickers on when they put the item of the shelf instore. It might be smyths "security tag" (without the electronic beeping). I think there was a limit of 3 of an item but you can do your john lewis thing......rinse & repeat. And they got the best shipping boxes along with Asda.
