I think it was live from about 7am. Basically the value was in the sets that were already -27% (Argos price match, minus postage £3.95) and then an additional  Amazon 3 for 2. If it was in still stock at Argos, it was available from Amazon at about -50%. Amazon started withdrawing the offer and raising the prices mid-morning.

Ordered mine just gone 6 am...multiples of 3 were adding to basket...

From a reselling point of view really pleased the Amazon promo has been pulled hope for future 3 for 2 events yet.

It's an interesting one. My view is that it was a deliberate retail price war with Argos - the timing of it as a calculating way of triggering returns and causing Argos a real headache - returned stock in all the wrong places and money leaving Argos's coffers and back into customers pockets. 

Why did Amazon pull it so soon - who knows. But I've never seen a 3 for 2 at Amazon, let alone one that only lasts for 3 hours on a quiet Sunday morning in August. Some of the prices were crazy and Amazon pulled the plug.  There were brands, other than Lego, which were ridiculously cheap. 

Check out the terms and conditions . The 3 for 2 was supposed to last for 3 days. It was pulled after 3 hours. Maybe somebody made an error and forgot to raise the prices to RRP. 

If orders are being cancelled, it acknowledges there was an error and Amazon have probably lost money. Jeff doesn't like losses.

Brickheadz Easter Bunnies in stock at SAH (-50%).  Not sure if they will be around next year.

It was definitely a pricing error. I imagine two parts of same marketing unit weren’t talking to each other.

Marketing Team 1 - “let’s reduce sets by 30-33%” to match Argos

Marketing Team 2 in another amazon meeting room “let’s do a 3 for 2 offer”

Launch offers within 24 hours of each other...result = chaos for amazon and for my credit card

Jeff (in stern Alan sugar style voice) “team 1 & 2 - you’re fired”

P.S this was as good as the crazy old Tesco Direct 342 deals, if not crazier. And many sets did not have limits including Jurassic helicopter with raptor Blue included. I now have a lot of these?

When there's a big pricing error in the UK just fill your boots and don't broadcast it everywhere (just here - LOL). The biggest I've seen recently is 75% off at some Dobbies garden centres, but that was intentional.

The in-store Asda discounts a few weeks ago were crazy. 75% off lots of stuff seemed intentional. 90% off Ninjago spinners and 94% off SW battle packs had to be errors.

My other half did see some £1 Brickheads in Dobbies over the weekend and only told me just now when she called! It's not my thing so just an FYI if somebody is driving past the Reading branch. I don't have time for boot sales or school fairs/fetes these days, otherwise I'd have got my arse straight over there as I know I'd shift them within days, if not hours. I'd only buy if really dirt cheap (>75% off and popular) and if I can shift immediately, I can't be bothered to stock or collect anymore.

Was paying £5 for some brickheadz but given the length of time series 1 has been hanging around I am now only buying those at £3 or less.

Rey and Kylo are really piled up in my local and the Guardian bunch are stinking the place out, wont be long before they hit £2.97 each.

Just hoping our local store stay as incompetent as ever and dont get round to changing the price labels which means with a bit of patience and keeping my nerve 

£1.20 each is a possibility.

I guess everyone has seen the 42070 sets on sale in Tesco for £100, I bought one and got it home had a look at the selling prices and then looked at the tiny lego dimensions 71255 sets 

which I bought in at £11 each stacked in my cupboard and realised finally the day of selling big Lego sets for me is over,left it back.

At 75 or even 100 GBP that set is a no brainer - the power functions are worth half that on their own and people will want them when PF 2.0 comes out and is not compatible.

You´ll need a 1.5 year or so hold and they are big boxes but it will make money at that buy-in if not just part out.

Just remember this was a nation wide deal meaning the market will be flooded with QFLL's trying to make themselves £20 per set.

That's why I left them alone as they ain't no crane ?

It's not just the QFLLs, it's also the scammers and the awfully long time to store these larger boxes. I thought the Unimog was an amazing set and that's been very disappointing on eBay.

With Christmas coming up, there's plenty of opportunity to make some money on these though regardless, if there were only a few per store then I think most of the QFFL's will have sold theirs by now. If it retires this year then that's not too long to wait. 

Worst case scenario these will do OK selling locally for cash, I don't think you can lose money on these at that price.

99% of my sales are local cash now that I've made good contacts via schools and residents' clubs. The problem with Xmas is that you need to start selling within the next few weeks as the race to the bottom starts in October. My motto is "If you can get it at that price then so can many thousands of others". I only used go in big if I had privileged information (eg. when I bought all those 41999s Crawlers thanks to a divorce and the 21104 Mars Rovers from the US) or enough buying power to wipe out all remaining UK stock. Anybody can buy the small sets that are currently 75% off at Dobbies, but just I can't be bothered anymore.

January has always been a good month for me when everyone else has basically given their stock away in the Xmas lunacy. Great time for picking up stock as we all know.

I am sure everyone has noticed a lot of Brickheadz kicking around stores for £5 or less, beginning to think my buy in of approx £3 for these is still too high

given the number of Rey and Kylo sets clogging up the toy sections in my local stores at £4.99 each.

Even the so called rare 4 are starting to flood back in to the market, £2.50 max from now on will be my buy in.

Boots 3 for 2 is on including Lego, for anyone who doesnt know.
