One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Guardian report suggests Lego are buying the stock back off them to avoid big discounts.

Especially if that stock has not yet been paid for. They´ll get way more pennies in the pound than being a creditor.

If the weather improves then maybe. Travelling more than a few miles is a bad idea in the UK right now with the weather and Toy's Were Us have stopped selling online.

I just picked up a few DB from my local TRU. £67 each. Good enough for me. They still had a lot on the shelves but even with 10% off, still not good value since most sets were back to or near RRP.

Yup, that´s the best deal I saw too but it´s worth scouring the web as there are a few other sets with reasonable prices if you can find them in store.

For the rest, it´s worth holding off to see what they do at the end of the month.

They had Porsche which would go for £162 after 10% discount but not sure on condition of box since in back. Also had a UCS Tie Fighter and UCS AOH

John Lewis will match TRU if you want a nice box ;-)

new Marvel Infinity Wars set on Lego's site. No deals other than a little bonus ship with qualifying buys.

I wanted to price match JL and I've been told that the item needs to be available for shipping to get price match and since shipping is disabled permanently on TRU website how you can get pricematch? You can get only price match through the ticket or you can call and ask for Price match?

JL are notorious for setting too many hurdles to ever get a price match. You may as well just buy elsewhere. They set test after test and then make up extra rules (irrespective of what their written policy says). When you apply online they take so long that it's usually sold out anyway.

JL are highly overrated

The penny drops.Lego wake up.

The company said sales and profits had fallen for the first time in 13 years, blaming the weak performance on having to sell off excess stock cheaply.

A Lego spokeswoman said it had "too much" stock in warehouses and shops.

"There wasn't enough room to get 2017 toys into the stores, and the toy trade is driven by newness," she added.

The Danish toymaker said dealing with the stock issue, as well as a drop in sales in Europe and North America, had dragged down its performance last year.

Lego Group chief executive Niels Christiansen said there was "no quick fix" and it would take the firm "some time" to grow long-term.

The weak performance comes after Lego cut 1,400 jobs worldwide in September, saying its business needed a "reset".

Revenue for 2017 dropped by 8% to 35bn Danish kroner (£4.2bn; $5.8bn), compared to 37.9bn kroner in 2016.

Pre-tax profits slid 18% to 10.4bn kroner in 2017.

At last they realize too many Lego sets.Which is good news for us hopefully means retiring sets will make a prompt exit.

They make another one major mistake - they do not produce any good LEGO series for boys/men as in the past or as current for girls (Elves, Friends).

Why not to release every year 5 or 6 train environment sets?

Why not to release every year about 5 classic pirates sets?

Why not to release every year about 5 classic knights sets?

Why not to release every year about 10 city sets different from the past? (Post, museum, cinema, circus, zoo etc...?)

I think, I will join the LEGO group as consultant...

We already have a thread for chat about results ;)

Minecraft Witch Hut £49.99 at a large retailer. Any one interested message me, will only supply details to regular Brickpicker posters , dont want this on HDUK.

Low stock.

Thanks for the tip off.

Worth it though? Looks to be modest profit based on recent eBay sales.
