Went to Leicester Square this morning (free travel or wouldn’t have bothered) and filled up my pre Christmas pick a brick box. Word of warning for anyone thinking about going there, they have absolutely nothing on sale or reduced aside from a few dimensions sets. I had staff out the back looking for winter toy shops / trains etc and there were no pickings at all.

Interestingly, there are heaps and heaps of 60 year promos there. I spoke to them about what would happen after the 28th. Obviously he couldn’t tell me for sure, but said it was highly likely they would go on general sale.

They are stacking this and year of the dog for £100 purchases but was so underwhelmed with SIAB I brought the little one some 40187 flowers using £5 VIP points and walked away.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

May have been a good opportunity to get a Saturn V with two promos?

I’ve got a couple already. It’s hoarded all over the forums and I’m waiting before getting any more. Patience with the promo will pay off, I’m convinced having seen the hundreds piled head high in store ?

42052 Heavy Lift Helicopter available for £63.50 from the Tesco eBay outlet. They seem to have a lot of them as well. Unfortunate, I thought this would do well on retirement but it seems not.

Yes I see someone purchased 30 of the 76057 there good luck with that one.

fun fact.
There is a small online store in Estonia or Latvia if I recall which is still selling these for RPP :)
But the owners are not shipping abroad nor answering to emails.

So one outlier set in amongst dozens of losers, or are there more?

My pre-ordered Ninjago city from Smyths has been dispatched.
Not sure what is making me more nervous about the state I'll receive it in - knowing how Smyths employees treat boxes or the fact they are using Hermes to ship it!

The two delivery's I've had from Smyth's have been the best condition I've ever had from a delivery and VERY well packaged with air cushions in a really oversized box. The in-store one's are probably worse.

if you want deeper analysis of the post EOL sets performance WALL-E will help you. He has the charts with numbers.
That's not the one for sure. Most of the dragons are doing pretty well.

There are more winners, such as the original Bounty and a few more recent sets but nothing spectacular. Your buy-in is what makes it work.

Minor observation - the sale prices on sold out sets have now been removed on UK SAH.

Does this mean the sale is over?

We just now need "Retired Product" to become permanent on the sets resurrected for the sale. That includes you, Yellow Submarine!

Asda had some a few minutes ago. Not a Lego farm-out judging by the stock levels.

Amazon UK supposedly has 1 in stock, but it isn't ;-(

It's gonna be always hit in UK, Turkey in Poland for example. Submarine isn't even moving from shelves heavily discounted here and there in PL.

Have you thought about buying them all and getting them shipped to the UK? My best deal was IWOOT and I'll not pay more than £35 for one now ;-)

you can't buy them all at once in one place, you need to find different sources to make it even profitable shipping them as a bulk to UK and then distributing.
too much hassle, I mean for those who buys BIG like you this might be a solution so you can renegotiate some further discounts from bigger distribution points.
I was wondering lately why the cheapest stores online are all located in Szczecin which is a border city with Germany in very north of the country.
Like crazy cheap knowing that they have to pay later the tax e-commerce shop (allegro.pl) fees etc. Most likely those are from Germany but still question how they can get the hands on so much cheaper sets over there.

I seriously doubt it's extra production. Must be they found an unsold batch in a warehouse somewhere and still need to get rid of it.

Ridiculous of LEGO to try to sell these now again at full price when the interest even at 50% off was low. :no2:

You could be right here - why do we not call them all and say that this should not work this way???

It is clear to me, that when I do it alone, that nothing happens. But in case the same person gets several calls with the same opinion then this person will surely inform his manager about it...
