February 3, 20187 yr There are some further reductions instore at Tesco. a couple of bargains, and loads of mashed boxes if you want to push for further reductions. Mine had a load of 10704's in stock for £25. I'm going to be watching for them to reduce them again.

A week or so ago I spoke with CS in store and politely asked what could be done in terms of reduction, presenting a battered box. I was abruptly told "we don't reduce any of that. It's Lego. The boxes are broken into and thrown away anyway". With a screaming baby in tow, I was in no position to negotiate further and in any case it was very apparent I was going to get nowhere fast. A grossly disproportionate number of the boxes in Tesco were damaged. If this attitude runs through the store, this is no surprise... Edited February 3, 20187 yr by Gary81

February 4, 20187 yr Ebay £1 FVF are bringing out the selling lunatics. £132 for Valentine's Bee and £35 for Tears of Batman. I never understand why people waste their time for items that will never sell, unless of course they don't have the stock and bring the price down when they do.

Annoyingly, I can't take advantage of this as the only thing I want to sell needs a Bricklink order.

That's what happens when eBay dish the £1 FVF out to so many at the same time. They should stagger it. When I was a Private Seller, the £1 FVF period gave me the lowest profits on most items as too many undercutters and timewasters.
February 5, 20187 yr Two alternatives: Have a limit of 5 listings, rather than 100. Charge 10p each time an item is unsold. That'll help to clear all the sky-high selling lunatics, or the 'list now, get stock later' brigade. Edited February 5, 20187 yr by Villager Chris
February 5, 20187 yr AFAIK the seller has the right to set the price they want and presales are allowed by Ebay if the conditions are met. If most of us complain standard FVF are too high, we should be glad of these promotions.

The sellers who benefit the most are those who have something genuinely rare for sale - which rules out 99.9% of us!
February 5, 20187 yr I agree, so it would be simpler just to have a normal 7-8% fee all year round and standardise between all ebay platforms so as people in one country are not getting shafted or benefitting. Penalising sellers for not selling will just lead to having no sellers. Anyway, it´s completely off-topic and just shows that deals are scarce right now. One would think shops would have more offers in the low selling period of the year and to make space for all those UCS Falcons about to arrive.
February 5, 20187 yr How about a 5.25% FVF like the early days? Or... at least limit it to say, 5 listings and at a different time to others? Greedy chancers who list at ridiculously high prices which never sell need to be penalised somehow for wasting customers' time and eBay's resources.
February 5, 20187 yr Yes indeed. To keep this thread on topic we need something to write about. It's been a very quiet 5 weeks. What we need to discuss are the planned summer retirements, and a good buy-in price! I'll start with 21034 London Skyline (£45, SAH) as no-one else has any stock!
February 5, 20187 yr Do we think the Rogue One sets will retire before the Solo set's are released ? When do we think that will be?
