The box condition has been very hit and miss, even with perfect packing boxes. For example I ordered 2 x 21127, one crushed (sent back) and the other creased (keeping). Really annoying as there was good money on the table with these two. I wonder where the stock has been before it ended up with Amazon. Normally they are one of the best when delivered. Another Amazon retired set arrived today (41179 Elves Queen's Dragon Rescue) and another damaged box. I got some money back, but a pristine box would have been worth more than my £13 part-refund. This is becoming a common issue with Amazon's old stock. Edited January 6, 20187 yr by Villager Chris

Condition is less important as I have a little girl who will go wide eyed fo this set! How did you get the discount, if you don’t mind me asking?

You really think that will only sell for > £13 less than it would with a pristine box? In my experience it doesn't matter that much; that damage is not severe enough.

The better the performer, the more people will pay for a pristine box. 37 minutes ago, Cheese said: What was the buy in? £65, so I got it for £52.

As long as you’re clear in you listing you’re not going to get far off what a mint one will go for

January 6, 20187 yr I had a QDR turn up from Alza in very disappointing condition. it was packed ridiculously well, they just obviously sent out a poor box. Even has tape in 2 places on the front. Luckily the other one the sent and three water dragons were mint.
January 6, 20187 yr Just now, Villager Chris said: Absolutely! The eBay prices make it look like I should, but none have actually sold at those prices, which is why I hesitated.

January 6, 20187 yr Got my delivery of 2 x Ninjago Samurai X Cave Chaos 70596 from the Lego SAH sale, perfect condition.

I've also got 2 x Ice Spikes coming from Amazon so I hope they are ok.

January 6, 20187 yr Been offered a brand new Destiny's Bounty for £75, think it's worth a punt at that price?
January 6, 20187 yr Been offered a brand new Destiny's Bounty for £75, think it's worth a punt at that price? Too early for investing purposes. Will be around till end of year and you may be able to get it cheaper on 3 for 2 and in store promos.
January 7, 20187 yr The more we complain about box condition, the more likely it is that retailers will get their acts together. I complain about every dinged box I get. I have to complain because my customers demand perfection! I'd just like to say that LEGO can also bin liners! My last Caterham 7 arrived in a grey bag, but was in a bubble-bag also and not damaged. I'm hoping that they've just run out of smaller boxes and this is temporary. I thought it was one of my John Lewis ones at first until I saw the LEGO packing slip.
January 7, 20187 yr How do Lego tend to respond to damaged boxes? One of my Yellow Subs has a small hole (maybe 5mm) in the front. Worth saying anything? Will I get some VIP points or similar as a sign of goodwill? Their sets in general are poorly packed but most of the time the sets arrive in perfect condition surprisingly.
