Anyone been in store with their boxing day PAB boxes yet? Has it been frowned upon if you have more than 1 to fill?

Not yet, I was actually going to ask is there a particular brick that I should try and stock up on? I presume there's not much choice.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

I visited Milton Keynes Lego Store and Smyths this morning.

Smyths's shelves were quite depleted. I asked about Minecraft and Elves and they said they were waiting for the new stock. Simpsons House and Ghostbusters HQ had at least 4 of each. The manager said he wasn't expecting much stock in the way of Elves this year. He said he cannot order any more 2017 sets.

In the Lego store, again stock seemed low. They were expecting a big delivery today, including Eiffel Tower. I dug a bit deeper and it was was missing off the delivery list that was interesting.

Nothing of interest on sale. All sale stuff was gone, apart from Adventure Time, Elves 41184 (lots of these), and some DC Super Hero Girls for about 30% off I think. All new stuff was there including Minecraft (the boxes are a lot smaller this year). Lots of Christmas Train Rides 40262. Plenty of big box sets available, including Saturns. No Palace Cinema.

No freebies, apart from Pick a Brick so it wasn't a very worthwhile trip. They didn't even have the City giveaway in stock. I only bought a Christmas Train Ride for £8 and a reduced Snow Hideout for £29 with sight box damage.

@Cheese had a really good haul from his local Lego store the other day so I'm still holding out  some hope of a gem or two. Although I doubt it's going to be a haul of 41179's like he found.

Filled up 4 with no questions asked, although I did have my 3 kids with me. One for each of them and one for me!

I actually went in as I happened to be near by but didn't have my PAB boxes. Looked at the wall and it didn't seem to have anything exciting at all? Interesting colours but very basic blocks and nothing taht looked rare at all. Just 2x2, 1 x4 etc. etc. This was Leister square.

Never looked at PAB am I missing something here?

They're useful sometimes if you like building MOC's or if you have a brickpicker store

PAB free box was a one day offer on Boxing Day. Suppose to be one per household but I got 4 as I did 4 separate orders. All the Lego in the glass bowls is eligible to fill the box, but you're right, most is only basic bricks. Good range of colours and the box weighs about 300g when full, so you can squeeze quite a bit in.

I’ve learnt from last year this is a great time to be regularly visiting your usual Lego stores since this is when end of year inventory is done in preparation for new stock and you can get an odd gem that appears which someone forgot to put out on the floor in the Xmas rush. Also helps to be nice and ask staff to check out in the back. Hence why I ended up with 4 x 41179’s as opposed to just the one that was on the shelf. Although I do regret not loading up on these about 6 weeks ago at TRU when they were doing their 20% off, given that they are now doing about 2 x RRP already. But can’t complain with my four, although my daughter has already eyed it up along with the Water Dragons that I also manage to snag. Will need to ensure that these are stored away properly!

Winter Train arrived today from SaH. Such a shame, the box was arranged badly (small sets packed on top of the train when there was plenty of room to the side) AND overruled with air cushions.

Getting a bit fed up with ordering SaH now

I had similar damage on my winter train.  To be honest that's the first item I've had that had been damaged from SAH. Every other set in the box was mint though.

My last 7 orders were all damaged, so I had no choice but to call CS. I returned all orders, was told to keep the promos and was given extra VIP points. It must have been obvious that I was a reseller, but I wasn't going to put up with it! I'll not order again until I see signs of improvement or a good set at -50%. Those that live near a store don't realise how lucky they are.

All my long-term inventory is mint, I won't accept anything less.

If anyone wants a quick flip tip look at Ninjago ;-)

I had a look, didn't spot anything. I'm probably missing it due to having little knowledge of Ninjago.

Wow.

I was selling morrow dragons for £80 in run up to xmas (bought at £27). Dawn of iron doom is rocking horse sh#t. If they were near me I'd be arm sweeping, especially at that price.

I know you've hated on "Stool Wars" recently, but those of us who bought £32 75101 Tie Fighters a month ago are not doing too badly. They're already selling for £75 on eBay. Wish I had bought more.

Impossible to keep up with all the sets, try checking if its retired/retiring and what its selling on e-bay and Amazon for, thats my formula.

After selling an AROCS on eBay last week for £205, ordered another 2 tonight. Even though it's showing in stock got an Email from SAH within 10 minutes stating it's on back order. Order status shows as 'Waiting for new stock'....
