Anyone anticipating any more sales now until Christmas?

ASDA don't have much, Amazon are shipping additional sets and Tesco's don't seem to be doing anything now.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

I've heard nothing official, but I've got my eyes peeled and ready pounce on a tasty deal that walks my way ;-)

Well it won't be ASDA as they've not got much left.

Tesco seem to be exploring every other route to boost their sales. First extra discount on corporate gift cards and now increased money off vouchers in the post. If that falls flat you could see something decent on Boxing Day

Just had an email from eBay with a £15 off voucher if I spend £75. I'm sure I'll be able to put that to good use. They have 5% cashback available too! Not sure how they can make money based off a 10% FVF, but that's not my problem.

They've done everything other than reduce their prices, they're bound to do something.

Like i have said before,I have been a daily instore shopper at Tesco for many many years now and this past year they have had very few bargains compared to all the years I have shopped there.Profit rather than stack them high sell them cheap is there new mantra,so do not be holding back on buying elsewhere.

The new management will be making sure profit is king.

Yeah I can imagine maybe their 3 for 2 was it for them. It is getting a bit late in the day for them now.

I do not intend to ever use the Shutl postage. Looks cheap and crap.

Shutl is crap, I used them 3 times and 3 problems - 2 were 2 days late and 1 was left on a doorstep to get wet. I just use Royal Mail, add a little extra P&P and never had an issue.

I can confirm that Collect+ is the best that I've used for >2KG and >5KG parcels. They've never lost a parcel in over 200 shipments and they're very helpful in retrieving one if you're scammed soon after shipping. Also, my shop is just around the corner, owned by a lovely indian guy that always gives me a free botttle of Advocaat at Xmas - I'll crack it open shortly ;-)

Personally I always try to use Parcelforce/Royal Mail for expensive items. If it's something cheapo and I can save a couple of quid I'll use Hermes and just package extra safely. Don't usually have any problems. Have a good relationship with my local post office and they always keep any interesting collectable coins etc for when I'm next in. Got a box of biscuits here for them just as a little thank you for Xmas :)

Post office staff don't have the best job in the World and I always appreciate what they do. This year I gave their daughters (they have one each) a Friends Pet Salon each, they'll love them an dI only paid a fiver for them. The whole family is quite obese so I didn't think that a box of Fox's biscuits or Celebrations was wise ;-)

Never expected this but Poundland has Lego.

they had loads of 40221 Fountain ( the free promo from a few years back).

saw it two stores, each had 10+ most being in mint boxes

Very random.

only catch is they are charging £5.

In Manchester Arndale as well as London if that helps anyone.

Um. Surely that's false advertising.

Indeed, though they were clearly marked on the shelf as £5 in a separate area of the shop. Also had some dimensions packs (Bart Simpson / Wonder Woman were the two I saw).

buy yes defeats the point of the name of the shop

plenty of the lego dimensions sets for a fiver as well, but they are a dead duck now, apart from a few sets with uncommon lego figures.

I don't understand the shutl criticism. Isn't it just a portal to various couriers at discounted prices? I've been using it to get the ups next day service on larger 2kg+ sets. Print own label and drop off at ups collection point. Sending sets fully insured for £6-£7. Not had a problem. Bargain imo

UPS drop-offs often aren't as local as Collect+ or Post Office. If only Parcelforce would price match ;-)

I'm lucky, got all 3 within half a mile of home ?

I'll take that and raise you a timed UPS collection every day at 4pm ?
