The entire organisation is well overdue a complete overhaul. Management haven’t done a good job in keeping up with market trends and managing the business, hence why they aren’t as profitable as they could be. One of the things that they have subtlety done is stop doing price matching. I expect that they’ll close those stores that have high rents in order to reduce their outgoings and then conduct a review of what’s left based on current and future profitability based on whatever strategy they come up with. 1st yr MBA student could come up with such a turnaround plan.

The best plan is to simply shut all branches now and fire the useless incompetent staff. Why keep paying rent for a sinking ship? When the liquidators start the big blowout, I will still not give them a penny.

They only have themselves to blame so no sympathy from me!

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

If there’s a fire sale then I’d probably take a dip, even though the boxes will be bashed up

41314 - FRIENDS Stephanie's House is £32 (RRP £64.99) at John Lewis. Reseller price has been over £70 so wait until the New Year for the QFLLs to make their £2 profit first! I passed, but bought more 21309 S5 ;-)

Did John Lewis honour your multiple orders when they had 5 unit limit before? Would it be better to create new accounts for each order?

John Lewis have never been a problem with multiple orders, just order the maximum back-to-back, the same I do with Tesco and Asda! Only Tesco "sort-of" complained before and said, "you can place multiple orders, but 20x item is our guideline" - works for me!

I had no problem accumulating 250x 21312 and over 200x 21309 from JL, most with partner retiree discount! ;-)

I've just ordered 50x 41314 Stephanie's Houses in 10 orders of 5x and they're already being processed. The beauty of this set is that you only have to hold it for a few months and then reap the rewards! ;-)

You could be right. I may be tempted at 75% off and part out the sets - LOL.

Does this fit within the small parcel dimensions? There's no local, cash interest in the riding clubs and they are too big to post economically.

Are you in Reading too? That's also a new branch.

No I'm oop north near Blackburn.

Unfortunately not, the box size is approx. 55x29x8cm (small parcel is 45x35x16cm).

I use a heavy-duty single-walled 60x30x10cm box and it fits in snuggly when bubble-wrapped twice. It's also under 2KG and will cost £6.00 to post 2nd Class Signed For. When I list these, I'll charge £6.99 postage to cover the P&P FVF (piss-take!) and the box. I will NEVER post anything unsigned and/or untracked as buyers are too dodgy these days.

You can always post at a small loss to get the sale, I do it often and offset it against tax. You'll still clear £15-£20 profit on these if you wait for the QFLLs to earn their £1 per set ;-)

It's basically a similar box to the 41106 Pop Star Bus.

Where are you based?

I like it up there. I was at Merlin Cycles in Chorley the other day. Great pubs and great chip shops!

Another cyclist? Bloody hell, everyone's at it. I don't suppose you know Adam Tranter?

Yes, I'm a keen cyclist, but not going out much in the cold - I'm a wimp! I just went to collect a new 1x11 XTR groupset at a bargain price as I was going to drop a load in Blackpool anyway.

75187 BB-8 is £56 at Tesco also 1000 points for £60 spend and 2000 points for £120 spend.

Be quick as HUKD already on the case.

Best deal on BB8 I've seen so far but I'm holding out on them being cheaper after Christmas.

I used to race a fair bit which mean't I had no choice but to commute to work in the cold, it was a 50 mile round trip into London too. Really grim!

I've dabbled in a bit of off road too, we live next to Swinley Forest so I've got no excuse really. Well, that was until I crashed into a tree and broke my collarbone. I'm now the proud owner of a titanium plate :)

The pricing algorithm has already pushed it up to £49.99, I'd buy at £30 tops.

I used to race too when I was 30 years younger and a lot leaner! I've not ridden through Swinley Forest in years even though I often ride near Bracknell on road. Yes, it can be dangerous as I came a cropper riding my Rock Lobster Ti (from Merling Cycles) too fast down Park Corner (stupidly trying to get Strave KOM!) and crashed at 28mph! I was lucky, just a smashed helmet, 2 busted fingers and about 4 cuts needing a couple of stitches each. Super Glue came in VERY handy that day! Kudos for your long commute BTW!

Above 30 quid is too damn high.

I'm more than happy to shift 100x at £40 each cash in one go. If not, an entirely possible £55 plus P&P on eBay will still raise £15 for a 5min job - don't knock it ;-)

Fixed. Above 30 quid is too damn high unless you are a 99 of everything quick flipping low life.

That eventually took the fun out of cycling, as I've gotten older and life has gotten in the way, commuting was my only training.

I really only ever enjoyed the racing, the banter at races and the Sunday cake runs.

What about the time spent repacking and labelling, ebay and pay pal feed and dealing with returns?

You must have a good network for distribution.

LEGO City - High-speed Passenger Train - 60051 - £66 at Asda.

£65 at Tesco as you'll get £10 from 1000 extra Clubcard points ;-) I think this will soon be around £50 eventually like the last Passenger Train was.

I see that SaH in the UK are only offering that hideous non-tree cardboard monstrosity as a promo so they won't be selling much this week!
