How does Toysrus price match work against their own site?

The GBHQ is £285 in store before the 20% off, but £235 on their website. Will they price match then take the 20% off?

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

I've been working on the Toys r Us deal today and wondered if anyone had got the following method to work?

  • Click through to Toys r Us from a cashback site - this apparently allow a 20% cashback and a £10 voucher from toysrus for spends over £100
  • Make order of item from Toys r Us. Print off the TRU 20% off at the till for Friday 17th November. Add 4 minifigure freebie to basket.
  • Arrange to click and collect at local store
  • Go to store before Sunday to pick up all the booty.
  • Achieve the 20% reduction at the till
  • Said cashback site add 20% to their account

My question is this. Although I am pretty sure I will be getting the 20% off at TRU and probably the £10 voucher, has anyone collected their goods and also got the £20 cashback in their cashback account?

Or is this simply a step too far!

Cashback doesn't work on click and collect orders.

Since Tesco’s 2-for-2 sale was as useful as a fart in a wetsuit, I’ve not bought a thing from them. Hopefully it’ll be 3-for-2 on Black Friday due to the complaints they must be getting now. If I did see another set at the same price to act as the 3rd, I’d have placed multiple orders.

However, Amazon came to the rescue :-)

Tesco... you’ve let us down!

Yeah the Destiny´s Bounty at 72 GBP was cheapest price so far. I held off because it was still only 33% off UK price and I reckon it will go lower after Xmas.

I got some telehandlers, as they had no such limit, but that's been it.

No big surprise, they have obviously figured out how to shift some turds with the gems,

Was sitting there trying to figure out  what to buy with The yellow subs but as the Queens dragon was out of oos I gave it a miss.

As I have figured out what quantities of certain sized sets to order to get the best chance of having them delivered in a box and not a bag, this has moved the goalposts

ordering different sets together is a recipe for lazy crap packaging coming your way.

As you say thanks Amazon and dare I say it TRU.

Oh nice, that means the First Order Assault Walker and Star Destroyer both will qualify.

one tru price matched the website price of £95 for destroyer before 20% off. Emptied the store

Another two didnt. Only took one.

So 2 stores would actually honour the -20% deal? That's shocking. The staff just interpret the T&Cs of offers as they please

My bad, misinterpretation.

One store price matched their website of £95 and then took 20% off.  Bonus

The other stores wouldnt price match their website and take 20% off.  It was one offer or the other. Technically this is correct according to their t&c's.

According to HUKD, John Lewis have about 15% off Creator Expert sets.

Not a reply directly to TabbyBoy, but to anyone - I can get a bit more discount on JL stuff (up to 4%). PM if you're interested.

Tesco 3 for 2 , No lego price drops in four days and no new stock of popular lego previously out of stock .

Unfortunately someone knows what their doing At TESCO, and is getting me miffed.

I did think this would happen with the new boss coming in.

Not much chance of a 3 for 2 and black Friday screw up this time

There were a handful of sets worth buying that are up for retirement in the coming weeks, and not available in the usual places.

Hopefully Tesco's 2-for-2 sale hasn't brought in the revenue they expected and they'll have a proper 3-for-2 sale next time. It makes you wonder how low the wholesale prices must be, 60% or more off? My orders today appear to have gone through otherwise I'd have been called by now.

Not a lot of love towards Tesco on here, but what about these? I think they were/are pretty good.

  • Airport Passenger Terminal 60104, £46 buy in and now retired. If it copies 60022, it'll be a good return.
  • Minecraft Ice Spikes and Witch Hut, both less than RRP and up for retirement. Not many retailers left that sell these and short production runs to boot.
  • Lakeside Lodge £10 buy-in.

We haven't got a Delorean and today's market is what it is.  Even Amazon couldn't match these.

Also the Telehandler was a good price, and it's labelled as 'retiring soon' on Brickfever. I have no idea how reliable that site is, so take it with a pinch of salt. However if it does disappear soon then that will be a good buy.

The only other things i've bought were for parting out.

I picked up 3 of them. Would have got more, but I've spent way too much recently and I need to close some sales first. Also had a £5 clubcard voucher that was due to expire, so buy-in ended up being about £11 each, I think.

Need to pickup my 9 from Argos from their 3-4-2 nearly a fortnight ago.  Tomorrow is the last day for me to collect.   Missed out on some Wall-E's & Jurassic World sets last year cos i couldnt be bothered going to a busy Tesco.  My partner was there twice she "forgot" twice.

A lack of easily found heavily discounted Lego is good for the market (and my sales this year)
