Was well worth staying up last time but my bed is mighty tempting even though the 3 for 2 logos are temporarily appearing.

Yep that's me done. Sitting this one out. Glitchy sites do my nut. Will hit John Lewis over the next few days and use a friends staff discount for the sets I really want. Going to be a cheaper year for me this year that's for sure! Good luck all, happy shopping! :)

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

I’m working tonight anyway and keeping my eye on Tesco. A few sets are now OOS, and 3-for-2 labels have gone. If Tesco are having problems, it’s possible to snag pricing errors. I don’t think we’ll see much until 9am. Remember that your baskets may empty overnight if checkout isn’t completed.

The only bargains i could see when i looked were a couple of the star wars buildable characters.

Lakeside lodge didn't look like a bad deal, but who knows when that will retire.

There's some cart-errors - combined 2 for 1 with ,,banned 3-4-2" sets like 60051, 60052, 42055, 42052 (x2 each) plus for ex. 42054 (x1 max! because of price) = 296£ discount - really works xD I was able to get 42053 and 42043 too.. (with stunning extra discount).. BUT someone was faster.. have a nice shopping :8)

They even lowered the price threshold for banning 3 or more of the same set. Was for the £100 sets then started to apply to the £50 ones

ive bought nothing and feel fine about it

Look on the bright side.
Them being OOS at 9am on so many key sets, could well mean stock levels are generally low.  Opportunity for a shortage selling into the Christmas market.
Some years are buying years, some are selling.   Last year was buying, so it's time to unload those 50%+discounts from 12 months ago.

Managed to snag all the ones I wanted but only spent 1/3 of what I did in last years first 3 for 2.

Interesting to see what went OOS overnight

Yellow Sub

Minecraft End Portal

Minecraft Fortress

Technic Porsche

Technic Volvo

All SW battle packs

Destinys Bounty

Mindstorms

Volcano Exploration Base

I'm surprised that as one of the apparent hot toys this xmas that Lego Boost didn't go OOS

Very surprised on the OOS on the 2017 sets, particularly the bounty.   Decent price sure, but it’s only been out 2-3 months, there will be another 18 months to pick it up.

But this could well explain the lack of sales this year.  Stock is actually low.   Retailers picking up less, or Lego distributing less, is the question though.

The non-retirement sets must be for QF over xmas.

I think the stock was low on quite a few items. Hopefully retailers ordering less  means Lego producing less and more retirements without warning. Certainly seem to be a pattern the past few weeks..

Who took all the Volcanoes 60124 at £55 and the Yellow Submarines at Tesco? 1f60b.png

I took all the 60124 last year when they were £44,99 plus 3-for-2 and points. They worked out at £29 a set. Not a good move as they weren’t easy to shift and are still often £45 or less. I’d have left them alone this year anyway. The 21306 Yellow Subs were gone before 3-for-2 went live. Just as well as these could be the next Exo Suit ;-) I’ll only check Tesco again for pricing errors as most sets aren’t bargains.

I spent over £15,000 less than I did last year.... ie.nothing!

I had Dentiny’s Bounty and Yellow Subs in my basket first thing, and just deleted them all as I just couldn’t be bothered. It’s >75% off for me so looking for pricing errors like the £11.33 Spaceports and £8.00 Pop Star Buses of 2016.

They were available when it first started at 12:45am. I manage to get 3 in just before the 3 for 2 was deactivated just after 1am. It won't be an Exo Suit, this will at least break even lol.

The weird thing is that a few sets that were OOS were available to buy on the individual product page. Will be interesting to see if these get delivered.

Knowing Tesco 5% of the order will be missing like always.

DB was OOS at 3am when I got up to let the dog out. Annoyingly when I went to bed at 00:30 it still wasn't showing 3 for 2.

There was one Yellow Submarine (at 5am) which I combined with 2 Tie Fighters for £95 total cost. That's all I could see of any value. I need those Ties to retire now.
