Is Argos treatment of boxes and packaging still the same? I only ask as it could wipe out any 3-for-2 savings if it's still piss-poor. Most UK re-buyers demand a perfect box or basically want it free!

Still the same bro. Some thinks never change?

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Darn already out. Missed some by going for 2% cashback. Serves me right.

Oh dear... £25.99 at Tesco, roll on 3-for-2. I think this could do well as long as it retires soon.

It was a great deal. I ised it to up my stock levels. A very good spot because it wasn't even showing as being marked down.

I think this is definitely gone this year. The question is what else goes? The Louvre is next oldest. I would've said they wouldn't retire two from same city at once especially with a new one matching up but they already did that last year with WH and LM so who knows. Think first 3 skylines will go too but don't see much potential there.

Has anybody bought the Technic 40th Anniversary Bundle in the UK for £79.99? I’m wondering if it comes in a special box with unique car chassis instructions to add value. If so, I may use my £25 voucher towards it and a Go Kart maybe. Thanks!

From Eurobricks:

Also at leister square this morning where the saving is £15 for the above  - when you buy ANY technic set you get £25 of your next over £100 Technic purchase in store or online in November (ish)

Did you see the box? Or... us it just the 3 separate boxes with a chassis manual?

Wasnae me! I Kan spell Leicester.

It´s only available for 10 days so I don´t think it will come in a special box - does anyone know different?

I’ve just found out, it’s not in a special box, just 3 normal sets and the “40th anniversary beam” is in all 2017 sets anyway so I’ll not bother ordering now. Hmmm.... I’ll probably now get the Airport truck and the Telehandler to use the £25 voucher.

Tesco have increased the prices on several of the sets i've been watching, 3-for-2 may come a few weeks early.

Damn. The whole point of Tesco 3 for 2 is that they don't put prices up before the offer starts

so when does 342 start then? seems later than usual!!

Tesco staff get 20% discount for about a week from the 20th of October so if they drop a 3-4-2 at the same time it could be decent if you have access to a Tesco colleague :)

P.S - I distinctly remember that after the staff 20% thing last year the 3-4-2 on toys popped up in the next couple of weeks after (I messaged a well known member who will probably remember this).

Last year the first autumn 3 for 2 was on the 31st October. So hopefully it will be within the next few weeks.

Looks like they're using the Argos trick. Although MSE reported Argos to Watchdog lol

Sainsbury's have an UP TO 50% off toys sale in-store from tomorrow (not sure if online too). Not saying it will be any good, just letting you know.

Do they hold much stock instore now since they hooked up with Argos?

Thanks for this, my wife picked up six 70621's this morning, perfect fodder for small children birthday parties. All the sets above are retired, but she also got a 70622 as well :)

Sainsbury's just seems to be a general 20% of Lego and my local asda doesn't have any kind of sale on.  Checked while picking up my 17 quid Eiffel Towers. Thanks @TabbyBoy

Detective's Office is £119.99 at John Lewis (£23 off). Toys R Us are doing a £10 gift card when you spend £100, that will be valid from Nov 18 - 30. That coincides with Black Friday. I might go to TRU, get them to price match JL, get the gift card, and hopefully use it on something also discounted, on or around Black Friday. Seems like a decent deal to me.

Tesco 3 for 2 is next week, so it won't coincide with the staff double discount week.

It starts on Friday 27th October I am told :)

According to HUKD, it’s running from 27th-30th. TBH I’m surprised they’re doing it again after the chaos last year. I wonder if prices will rise just before. It’ll be good to watch Amazon and John Lewis at the same time. Asda seem to not do many sales these days.
