Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.
Not a deal but a heads up for investors. Argos have the Lego Star Wars advent calendar for £29.99, that's £5 more than rrp!! Have contacted Argos and they say it's the price and not a mistake. I'm guessing it's a fixed price to prevent loads of sales to quick flippers in the imminent 3 for 2 sale, assuming it's going to happen.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Sorry UK brethren for hijacking your thread, but if any of you have access to make a purchase from Smyths in large quantities, can you please PM me?

Toys R Us are doing £10 off £50 spend (Loyalty Card holders only) and word is that Smyths are about to do the same but also with £20 off £100 spend.

I just had a look on Toys R Us and couldn't see anything interesting at all. They even seem to have jacked up the price of the A-wing (75175) to £49.99. Would love to be proven wrong though.

I havn't even looked to be honest and most probably won't buy anything. Just thought I'd put it out there :)

Smyth's have £10 Off EVERY £50 Spent In-store only starting 9am and running to 2nd October. Discount taken off at till automatically.

Good stock of the better sets all over the UK.

Technic Porsche for €176 with the discount, say our US cousins would kill for these prices.

Quite surprised Amazon are price matching Smyths when their offer is in store only.   Is this the start of silly season?

You mean the start of the non silly season when prices are hopefully more realistic?

Tesco and Argos 3 for 2 won´t be far off now.

Not hopeful about Argos at all. Their prices are mostly RRP at the moment.

November changes everything. Last year they had a price war and we know that Lego sales are down. Unless they cut back on purchasing this year, it should be another great period for discounts.

argos 3-4-2 starts tomorrow apparently.

I hope its an All Toys offer rather than the restricted offer they ran during the summer.

'Any toy with the badge is on offer' ie. restricted.

Can’t say I’m surprised, I think this was always on the cards after the sainsburys take over.
The smyths 20% above £50 stacking with current discounts is the better offer at the moment.

Looks like you can't order 3 of the same item in the Argos sale. Reservations are split into orders of 1 and 2 items (from same store) meaning full price.

No it's just their strange system. You can put two reservations together before checkout in store.

Either everyone got to the 3-4-2 after midnight, or the selection is just dire. I didn't spot much of interest...

It's the latter. Selection is pretty great but everything is at full RRP so the savings aren't there.

Did pop to Smyths yesterday and get a UCS Snowspeeder and Old Fishing Hut (purely for personal build) saving a nice £60. So that's probably the better deal, unless the Tesco 3 for 2 comes along.

The yellow submarine was purple badged so reserved 3. Noticed there was no discount on the confirmation so logged out and back in. Badge had disappeared.

I ordered some yesterday for collection. Just picked them up and they went through on 3-4-2 so all good.
