I might possibly buy something again one day, if Tesco ever do a mad 3-4-2 ever again. Seems mad to buy in on anything without a mad discount for the next several months, at least. It's generally harder to pick-up worthwhile discounts over here (UK anyway) compared with the US, on sets worth re-selling (where their market for re-sale seems to be stronger anyway on most things, plus they get a heads up on retiring soon sets from the Euro Lego Shop at Home).

It seems a bit of a slog over this way and the market is definitely saturated with too many re-sellers for the UK, to be making this game anything but hard. I've only been doing this for just over a year but I wasn't even bothered by any of the recent SAH offers (apart from the obvious couple that deservedly sold out within minutes/hours). If they hung around for a while, there's a reason. They just aren't worth the hassle.

I mostly only spend when things are seriously discounted now. Too much undercutting and competition from too many re-sellers etc to hope that things will seriously appreciate after several months. It's a quick-flipper or serious discount buyers market over here now. Unless you just like all of the hassle to make £3 on an item occasionally. Much easier ways to make that money.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

My thoughts exactly which is why I decided to quit at the end of 2016. I only plan to sell this year and only a 75% off discount (or a pricing error) on a "gem" will change my mind. Quick flipping is where I made the mode money last year, eBay is a hell of a lot of work to make virtually nothing.

Must be a glitch with Spanish web then.

There's definitely deals worth picking up here, you just have to be smart about them. I didn't expect to be buying much this early in the year, especially after going crazy with the Tesco deals, but I've been picking up some nice deals.

50% off and a cool 2 minifigure polybag make it well worth while looking at the LEGO Shop at Home sale.

Take for example

Resistance Troop Transport    €37.50

Heartlake Hot Air Balloon         €14.99  (bought this for free shipping)

Birthday Table Decoration        €7.99

Tears of Batman Polybag         Free Promo

Total                                         €60.48

Nothing magical or amazing there, but lets work down through how they'll sell.

Total Spend                              €60.48

Birthday Table Decoration        €15.00  sell on local adverts site, no fees, these sell easily and I'd buy more if the limits weren't so tight

Heartlake Hot Air Balloon        € 20.00 again sell on local adverts site with no fees, could get more, but lets be pessimistic here

Tears of Batman                      € 15.00 these are flying out the door at €15 with no fees

VIP Points                                €   3.00

Balance                                    €7.48

So effectively I've got the Resistance Troop Transport for €7.48, think I can cope with this.

Sprocket did you order the full 50 limit on those table Birthday Cake Decs or a lower number just in case of a ban.Thats if they do ban certain orders where the limit is reached.

50, I wish, limit's 2. I've beem able to get more by ordering over more than one year and with a different account. But it's mostly used to get orders up to free shipping or promo thresholds.

No, limit is 50 now, the same for the red pigs by the way....

Wouldn't go near this set. One generic Batman minifigure and two henchmen don't a good investment make. No one's going to be interested in this, particularly where there's much better Lego Batman Movie sets out there.

myToys.de have discounted Creator and Friends sets (averaging 22%) if anyone's interested...

Decent price on the rollercoaster with the extra 10% off.

75149 - Resistance X-Wing Fighter €52.50 @ amazon.es if anyone can be bothered.

The times I ordered there,  the boxes were in bad shape and they only pay back 30% of the costs of sending it back.  Would not recommend it.

Batmobile poly 30046 now free with orders over 30 euros of on sale items at EU SAH until 21st Feb. It stacks with the Batman minifig too if you spend more than 55 euros.

Desperate times.
