One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

watch the price plummet as its available to all now.

any views on price potential on the Batman 2 figure polybag?

sold 5 before it was generally available, and sold for an average of £25, but ebay market looks saturated now... around £12 each.

Have 3 more to sell, worth holding them back, or will the market saturation mean they stay low at £12 a bag now?

IMO it won't go near £25 again, it will be £6-8 next week, and may go back to £12 once the promo ends.

I had a stash of Spiderman 30448 poly bags last year and was selling them easily for £20+ when there were only a few sellers, it's been £6-8 since and has never recovered.

I had the same situation with the Toys R Us exclusive Hulk polybag, buy in roughly £4 at the Brick show 2015 - sold like hot cakes at £14.99 a bag.

Bought another load stupidly at the 2016 show for £5 a bag, couldn't get more than £7.99 a go this time round...

As I said before, LEGO is now mainly for flipping not investing. I can't think of more than 10 sets currently that will even reach RRP (plus fees) after EOL let alone exceed it. This could be why LEGO turned a blind eye to bogus bricks for such a long time... to upset resellers? If so, it worked!

Such a lot of negativity...

Anyway...Deals thread

Thanks for comments. Sorry for going a little off topic.

agree with tabbie boy, buying in to a deep discount to RRP is essential.

Ive definitely learnt that promos and polybags need to be flipped very early on in their release to get a decent price

Make that 7 and price dropped to £39.99. This doesn't concern me as I still remember the Delorean wasn't exactly "snapped up" when that was discounted. Doctor Who is the sort of set that'll soon be missed when it's not as incredibly widely available and discounted as it is now. LEGO simply overestimated initial demand (like they do will most sets these days!) and demand will come in due course. I know of lots of Doctor Who fans who have never heard of this set but, I know they'll want one!

I've already got a cash buyer lined up to take all mine for £28 each so I still make an easy £1000+ if I shift the lot. However, I'm in no rush.

Backordered awing/TIEs arrived seals 15S6 so just moving global stock around?

How come they are week 15 codes if it was only launched in June? I need to check mine.

I have the same code on a set bought last year. And S codes are normal for European retail purchases.

IIRC this one had quite a few different runs.

Seal codes on mine 36s6

arrived this week

Also worth mentioning that when they arrived this week they were badly packaged and had box damage. Very surprising for Lego

Probably returns? I must admit, the last set they sent me didn't have the usual air-pillows in it, had a dent in the corner and double-sealed. That's the problem with sale items as restocks are sometimes remorse returns from resellers and returns from retailers who don't care too much. It's not always wise to complain as you'll stick out as a reseller. If it's just one set, you just say it's a present for a very fussy little boy ;-)

EU SAH sale seems to be over. That means no more cheap Ectos.

??

I might possibly buy something again one day, if Tesco ever do a mad 3-4-2 ever again. Seems mad to buy in on anything without a mad discount for the next several months, at least. It's generally harder to pick-up worthwhile discounts over here (UK anyway) compared with the US, on sets worth re-selling (where their market for re-sale seems to be stronger anyway on most things, plus they get a heads up on retiring soon sets from the Euro Lego Shop at Home).

It seems a bit of a slog over this way and the market is definitely saturated with too many re-sellers for the UK, to be making this game anything but hard. I've only been doing this for just over a year but I wasn't even bothered by any of the recent SAH offers (apart from the obvious couple that deservedly sold out within minutes/hours). If they hung around for a while, there's a reason. They just aren't worth the hassle.

I mostly only spend when things are seriously discounted now. Too much undercutting and competition from too many re-sellers etc to hope that things will seriously appreciate after several months. It's a quick-flipper or serious discount buyers market over here now. Unless you just like all of the hassle to make £3 on an item occasionally. Much easier ways to make that money.
