That's fine offer. Last year I bought 10196 in opened box (with some scars) and sealed inside for 450$ -- it's worth every penny, absolutely great set!

    One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Good day, I am new to the site and have been following some of the threads with keen interrest, learning with every post. I live in South Africa, and altough most might think we have to fight our way through the jungle to get to the lego store, we have a very healthy lego community here.

I need some help from you guys though. I am negotiating with a seller from Cape Town to buy a 10196 Grand Carousel for $1200 NISB, but I have a few issues with the box, it seems somewhat worse for wear. But even with this, I dont think the seller actually realise what it is worth. Can you please give me your opinions.

I'll include the pictures that bothers me the most

Well, $1200 is more than a fair price even if used. The pics you posted look like the box was clearly opened. However, the bricks, tent tops and manuals could be perfectly sealed. I would def have that shipping clear tape removed. Count the bags or inspect to see if the key items are there.

Thanks, I ordered a couple. Did the Red 5's from Amazon.it end up shipping?

Any chance you could help me out? I've never ordered before from another country and I was wondering do we have to pay extra for shipping, will the box still be intact, do I need to speak to them first etc? Thank you for your help!

You pay extra for shipping and VAT will be adjusted to that of your country. When the item is in your basket you´ll see the amount before you are required to pay. No need to contact them. Items will be shipped by Amazon´s usual standards.

It comes to £160.56 shipped. But its highly unlikely it will

Ant Man 25% off @ Sainsburys, available online,  just picked up 4.

Also, make sure to pay with your credit card and not use Amazon´s exchange rate!

Whoops! How much difference does it make? My credit card charges me a "foreign transaction fee" of 2.5% if I pay in Euro so I'm not sure if i'd be better off.

Check the daily exchange rate that your credit card company provides (mastercard and visa publish tables on their webs) and work it out. Amazon and Paypal ususally use less favourable rates but you need to compare. And if you make frequent purchases in other currencies, shop around for a card that doesn´t charge a flat rate or % commission.

15% at Intertoys.nl -> Mini 10242 for 72E

Real can also be combined with 10x payback coupon

Spielemax has a 20% sale going on but I havent looked at it yet

Also galeria has 10% on nexo knights, not a real deal but I like to mention it

Any Brits who feel like a random goose chase, Asda have the most random offers on right now, so I visited 4 stores today by accident because I was actually looking for the series 14 minifigs Sainsburys are clearing out for £1, but no joy, so checked out my local Asda. Anyway glad I did this is what I ended up with from the 4 Asdas near me:

First Asda 4 x General Grievous, priced at £16.48 on one of those end displays, scanned at £12.50, I mean wow..... ( I was thrilled at £16.48 ) I actually asked if they had any more but no luck

Secound  7 x Senate Battlepacks 6quid each

Third 5 x Darth Vaders £10 each, again wow, and priced at £10 on shelf

Fourth 9 x Carnage sky attacks 6 each and 4 x imperial troop transports 6 each

Basically every Asda as always had different random sales on and it was all over the place, total random result but glad I spent 2 hours checking them anyway.

Cheers Yellowtot, will make a visit tomorrow to see what I can get. Got the general grievous wheelbike for £10 a few months ago which was a happy surprise.

You're right about ASDA - random and confusing - especially when the label name bears no resemblance to what is being sold. Had several deals over the past week. Bought several spider droid mini pack things - asda were £5.20, then popped over to Sainsbury's and they were under a fiver each. Also Ant Man is down to £15.

One bit of advice for Asda - they very often get prices wrong. If they do, and the price you've been charged is higher, let it go through the till anyway, then trot over to customer services to get your refund. Asda have a policy that states that if they charge you too much they will give you a £2 gift card per receipt. Now, I know this isn't much, but it's something!

Not sure if it's good for investment (doubt it, really) but for fun:

56% off of NXT intelligent brick 9841 (€160,- -> €70,-).

56% off of Ultrasonic Sensor 9846 (€34,- -> €15,-).

And a whole bunch of sensors at 22%-42% off.

These were used in a demo, so I think there's only one of each. Look here: http://www.a-tembo.nl/webshop/lego/alle-lego-sets/9846-ultrasonic-sensor-nxt-demo-detail.html?brickwatch I don't know if they will ship outside of the Netherlands, ask them for info.

Mytoys.de have 16% off Star Wars until the 25th. The Tie Fighter is already reduced, so the further reduction brings it down to just over €50.00.

They deliver all over Europe.

That could be interesting. The delivery outside Germany by the way is an additional €5,95.

The LEGO 75140 Star Wars Resistance Troop Transporter has a RRP of €80 in The Netherlands and €70 in Germany. With 16% discount it comes to €58,80. Not bad!

Delivery isn't bad, it's €12 to Ireland, but you can get discounts for new accounts or answering surveys and if you buy multiple items the delivery charge doesn't increase.

for mytoys as a new customer you can use this code

11 € off SPARP7AMDMWJ

if you order the newsletter you get additional 2 € off .

and be sure that you are close to 49 € so you get the most discount of it :)

Bought 2 kylo ren 75117 and 2 captain phasma for 16.5 € each.

Better still, and I just missed out by going about this the wrong way round.

For a first order, use MYT12PROZENT for a 12% discount for goods up to €300.

As the SW stuff is already discounted it doesn't apply to those as only one offer can be used, but they have the big Technics sets reduced so spending €300 is easy.
