One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Ebay have given me free fees for the next four months or so, must be desperate to pull sellers back in.

Go ahead, sell all your LEGO now! :-)

Smyths are offering 20% off if you hand in a TRU gold card. Their way of counteracting current TRU firesale and maintain sales during this period. Bad taste if you ask me. Why didn’t they just bring forward their 20% annual sale.

They binned the 20% sale last year, didn't happen.

Not sure why it's in bad taste, why should they let TRU going out of business negatively affect their sales?

Why not just have a 20% sale across the board. Using intellectual property of a competitor that has fallen on bad times is in poor taste. Surprised this was signed off since this has reputational risk all over it. Getting a lot of bad press on social media as well.

Because they haven't planned or budgeted for a full on 20% sale and they seem to be a well run company, so don't do full scale sales on a whim.

Don'y see why people have an issue with this, it's a clever way to entice customers who might previously have been loyal tru customers.

Tru caused their own demise, it's not lile Smyths are dancing on their grave.

Reminds me of this gem though so don't think TRU would not do the same. I see no problem with it companies try and screw eachother all the time.

Been today in 2 Toys R Us shops one in Croydon the other one in Merton.
Both shops with mostly cleaned shelves, pathetic discount on lego 15% (MUST GO CLEARANCE OMG!)
rest of toys 20% and plush toys 30%

wanted to buy some funko pop but nothing left ;(
Creator Expert are gone in both shops, hoards of Batman and Star Wars small and medium sized boxes.

Rest RPP with tag  -15% at the till. which is pathetic because in Sainsbury's on the other side of the street

all City Sets and Batman Sets were discounted 20%.

not planning to go to TRUagain.
sail away  T R U.

Yes 100 per cent accurate , was at my local two days ago with the store very crowded but no one buying Lego.

They had closing down sale signs everywhere which got customers in to the store, but by the time they are giving a decent discount there will be even fewer worthwhile sets available dont waste your time.

I thought their Lego was on sale or return?

If that's the case then I can't see the discounts being near the level's we need them to be for reselling, not until the final few days I expect.

20% off all Lego sales (up to max £75 off) if payment is made by 6pm GMT today on eBay using PAY20LESS at checkout

20% off where?

20% off where?

Sorry on eBay using PAY20LESS. Multi tasked and failed. Original post updated.

See the batcave set is also struggling even at discount. TLBM really does seem to be disappointing at retail.

Will be very interesting to see how it does long term. Suspect some if the minifigs might end up being desirable.
