The Tesco 20% off sale is over, but there are still some items on Amazon and John Lewis available at the Tesco prices from price matching.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

To those in the UK, just a heads up... Be wary of ordering from John Lewis.

Ordered two larger sets (Spider-Man bridge battle and passenger train). Both came just in grey plastic bags with no protection. Needless to say both arrived in bad shape.

beware! Not the service you expect from JL!

(I made a more detailed post in the packaging thread... But want to alert uk buyers on this thread as  John Lewis is regularly mentioned)

I was just about to order a couple of sets from Tesco and I've just been banned! I've not taken the wee-wee since 2016, so I don't know what the reason was. CS just say that my account is suspended even though I made a small personal order a few weeks ago which I got OK. I was about to check out a food order just now for delivery and that bombed me out straight away. I have others who can order LEGO for me if need be and they can have the points ;-)

Just placed my first Ocado food order and I hope it's OK, at least I got the new customer (non-loyalty!) offer.

C'mon Asda/George, give us some deals!

Have they lifted the suspension yet Tabby?

Smyths are now showing their stock levels per store on their website, could be very handy.

It's showing that there's no Ewok's Villages left in the UK, any of you guys seen any in your local stores? Be great if there wasn't, had a fear this would end up being another Tumbler after someone said they had 1,200 in stock at the end of last year.

TBH... I've not contacted them as I used Ocado for the last food shop. I'll check once I see something I like on Tesco Direct. I couldn't log in 2 days ago.

I have had the same problem, make sure you complain as they gave me a £20 gift voucher, It seems to be an on going problem, as in my local store there are a number of smashed up large sets, which I assume are delivered returns.

Question... visiting U.K. From USA  Right now until 5/9 then off to Paris... debating if I should get the Porsche gt3 at Tesco for £179.99. I think I can get VAT back when I leave EU. Is there any coupon to get a lower price? I would have to leave the box behind and stuff it in the luggage though. I don't think I can beat the price back in USA. Any idea if it would be cheaper in France?  Do you guys think it is worth it?

Unfortunately 179.99 seems to be the price everywhere this week.  Last week you could have got it for 144.

There's rarely coupon offers over here, especially in the first half of the year, it's just more general sales or discounts.

I haven't seen it below 200 Euros in France, so it looks like Tesco is the winner.

I just got one from amazon.fr for €194 last week....

That's a major part of the set's appeal. You could surely get a boxless, clean used copy for a lot less when you get home.

Was that with shipping? If so, I'll have to look harder :)

Free shipping to Belgium; so I assume free shipping within France ;)

It was shipped in the original Lego shipping box.

AHHHH! Sweet! 200 is about my max for this set. I like it a lot, but not at RRP.

Tesco have 1,000 clubcard points for a spend of more than £60 on Star Wars at the moment. Don't see anything really worth picking up though.

I called them to check my status and I should get my account reactivated next week. Thank God I used up nearly all of my points as I've lost the £3.50 worth I had. At least I won't be going in big again!

obviously also matching the Tesco ethos of sending already damaged returns out in plastic bags so as to transfer blame to the couriers,my brother works for Hermes and says this is common practice.

The real problem is we dont complain enough about the practice of sending poorly packaged Lego sets out from large retailers, would you send any thing in the post in a plastic bag,it shows a very high level of contempt for the customer.

Tabby boy has the right idea until you start kicking them where it hurts you will keep getting Trash in the post.

To make it worse John Lewis customer services have been appalling. First call the guy didn't care, second call the lady simply said return to store and buy another (price has gone up and they want me to do the physocal returning for them!).

final email I sent got a poor response offering the smallest of discounts. Probably going to rethink ever buying from JL again, not just lego, but we buy lots of things there for family and ourselves (clothes, things for children, presents, household items). Also may not even bother with Waitrose anymore (same ownership).

Supposed 50% clearance at Tesco stores. Merthyr and Cardiif for definite according to HUKD. But I called Blackburn Superstore and Accrington Extra and they deny it.

Blackburn superstore never have anything beyond £10 sets in stock anyway.

I'm only interested in larger Lego Friends sets, so thank you, saves me a trip.

I just had a look in Accrington. None of the huge sets, just medium-sized and small, and only a few were discounted.

Lego Friends Amusement Park Hot Dog Van £13.99
Amusement Park Puppy Daycare £15.99
Amusement Park Space Ride £10.79
Amusement Park Arcade £7.79

These are the cheapest prices I've seen, except for Puppy Daycare which was the same price in their 20% off sale last week. Prices in different stores are not consistent - for example, the supermarket was reduced to £15 in the Merthyr store (as stated on HUKD) but it was £30 in Accrington.

There were also some reduced City sets in Accrington. Helicopter for £22 I think.
