It'd be interesting to see if Tesco has much left tomorrow after last minute hammering.

BTW... Yes, I meant 0.1% earlier ;-)

Let's hope we get deals like this from other retailers. Are you reading this, George?

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

It´s been a wild week of promos, not just at Tesco´s. I reached my spending limit for the year and there are still 8 weeks till Xmas with Black Friday still to come then Jan sales. Hopefully selling will be good too but I can already see that there has been less activity than in previous year. That probably means another round of discounting this time next month.

Do you get compensation from Tesco if you complain?!

Only within reason and with a good case. Mine was that I needed to keep the van for a second day which needed paying for. The guy at Tesco was very helpful and his manager approved the voucher while I was on the phone. I did email them the van hire receipt as proof though. I ended up about +£45 on the deal.

Remember we have Black Friday & Cyber Monday to look forward to and this could be when Asda/George have a similar offer?

Argos 3 for 2 offer apparently starts Nov 4th. No doubt all prices will be put back to rrp first so won't be anywhere near as good as the Tesco offer but still its 33% off if you manage to get non trashed stock

As if that is possible. I've only managed to get 50% success with in-store pickup, and like TabbyBoy 100% failure with delivery.

I've been pretty lucky with in store pickup. the only trashed sets I've had were microfighters and constraction figures which got rejected, but even Amazon struggle to deliver those in good condition at the first time of asking.

Here's my approximate % of set condition per retailer during 2016:

Argos: 0% as every box has several stickers (most impossible to remove) and the vast majority of boxes are badly damaged (returns from elsewhere?).

LEGO Shop at Home: 99% as Yodel seem to take care when delivering and the only minor damage is by promo sets denting the boxes (I now refuse crap polypags when ordering!).

Asda: 100% as I just cannot fault the orders placed this year, all have been in mint factory boxes when C&C.

Tesco: 99% as not always in factory boxes but they really look after their stock and use top quality bubble-wrap and air-bags (what a deal this weekend was!).

Boots: 50% as the 2nd order of this year was left out in the rain soaking the sets inside (good result as they replaced the sets and I kept the damaged ones which I'll part out).

TRU: 90% as only bought instore and checked boxes carefully first and leave the ones that have been picked up, dropped and put back.

Smyths: 100% as only bought instore and good sets are placed high up on the shelves away from dirty/sticky little fingers and clumsy browsers.

Of course, I'll never buy anything from Argos again as they seem to only sell seconds/returns and don't deserve to be in business - shocking! However, I will ask another retailer to price match them if they have a good offer. I will not buy from Argos regardless of price, they are the WORST retailer in the UK on most products, not just LEGO. If you're reading this, Argos - go ahead and sue me, I have plenty of evidence that I'd be very happy to show in court and to UK media!

Even though I'll not set foot in Argos ever again, I will ask other retailers to price match if the item is in stock.

Not as good as tesco 3 for 2 prices, but if youre only looking to buy 1 of each, following prices are quite good:

LEGO Technic - Porsche 911 GT3 RS - 42056

£179.97 (28%)

LEGO Super Heroes - Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle - 76057

£57.97 (36%)

LEGO Star Wars - Krennic's Imperial Shuttle - 75156

 £53.97 (33%)

Agree and it might be in the film for like 3 seconds with no dogfight, same as Kylo Ren´s.

The way thats being discounted this early makes me shy away from it soon I think we will soon see 50% and over reductions.

I think retailers in the UK are worried about their sales for this quarter. Trying to get consumers to buy xmas presents early with these deals. Don't think it says anything about the sets. it's just business.

Over here no great deals on R1 stuff yet but Nexo stuff is crazy cheap. Either of the big fortresses can be had for less than 60 euros.

Just as we're recovering from the big Tesco sale, the Asda/George one starts tomorrow (03NOV) according to HUKD.

Not even a little peek at their website? Go on, you know you want to!

Ok I've had more than a little peek, but the prices would have to go up, if they went 3 for 2 on the current prices then it would blow the Tesco deals out of the water.

Some examples of what some brand new sets would work out at

Krennic's shuttle      £36

Tie Striker                £27

U-Wing                    £31

Capitol Building        £40

Buckingham Palace   £20

Fingers crossed its a 3 for 2 with Asda...was just about to order a U Wing and Krennics Shuttle, glad I read this thread :)

On another note I was in Tesco this morning collecting some of my orders. The customer assistant who served me thought there was a good chance Tesco would do another 3 for 2 before Christmas....heres hoping.

Running out of storeage space and hiding places for my stockpile, girlfriends going to rumble me soon.

If they do another 3 for 2 hahaha would be great, gives them time to stock up on ghostbusters lmao

Yes we do, let's hope there are some interesting deals.

Pretty sure the Asda one is just one of those 'Upto 50% off' jobbies. I wouldn't get your hopes up about it being 3-4-2, because you'll be disappointed.
